Rowan knew her too well. She was self-sacrificing to a fault and sometimes acted recklessly. But she deeply cared about the life growing inside her.
"I promise," Elissa agreed.
"Take a look at this number."
Rowan handed her his phone. Elissa frowned. "Whose is this?"
She only had Rowan and Tanya Foster's numbers memorized.
"Marcia Carson," Rowan said bluntly. "The day after Thomas got out, he received a thirty-minute call from her."
Elissa froze. She hadn't even considered Marcia. Marcia had no grudge against Jacqueline, and Elissa had been actively avoiding her.
Before Elissa could spiral, Rowan added, "I already called Rex. He's on his way back to Zephyr Manor."
Since Marcia was staying with the Wilkinsons, they were the best people to force her to hand over the antidote.
Hearing that the Wilkinsons were handling it brought Elissa some comfort. "Yes, let the Wilkinsons deal with this."
Despite the fury building in her chest, she held onto her reason. Marcia hated her, and attacking Jacqueline was clearly a proxy war. Confronting Marcia directly would only fuel her twisted ego. Marcia was the type of person who was a snob at heart, and the Wilkinsons were much better suited to deal with her.
Seeing she was calm, Rowan sighed in relief. "I'm almost done with work. Ready to visit the hospital?"
"Yes."
At the hospital, Rex had just finished his grueling night shift in the ER when Rowan's call jolted him fully awake. He immediately arranged for his people to track Marcia's movements, then called her while driving back.
