A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6541

Jared didn't give him time to recover.

The second sword was already there.

There was no charge-up, no opening stance, not even the slightest warning.

From the same position he'd used to block, the Dragonslayer Sword flowed straight into a killing chop.

Its edge carved a dead-straight violet line through the air.

The envoy on the left snapped his war axe up crosswise to block.

Every saintlight sigil on it flared to life, weaving themselves into a hexagonal saintlight shield.

It didn't matter.

The chaos-flame swallowed the sigils whole, and the sword energy punched through the saintlight defense and crashed into the axe's handle.

The starfall metal handle broke under that violet sword energy like rotten wood.

And it didn't stop there.

The remaining force tore through the envoy's panoply, through his saintlight shield, through the holy light in his meridians driven to its absolute limit.

The envoy on the left was split diagonally from right shoulder to left abdomen.

Golden blood sprayed into the air and burst into a drifting mist of gold.

By the time he hit the ground, his body had already separated in two.

His upper half toppled crookedly across the shattered flagstones, disbelief still frozen in his eyes.

One sword.

A peak Golden Immortal Level Three had been cut down in a single strike.

He's not human.

That was the envoy on the left's only thought in the final instant of his life.

How could a True Immortal Realm Level Eight cultivator kill a Golden Immortal Level Three in one blow?

It went against the laws of the world.

It went against the most basic truth the immortal world had accepted for countless ages.

But his consciousness had already scattered.

He would never get the chance to understand it.

The envoy on the right's face changed violently.

His companion—a peak Golden Immortal Level Three, the same realm as him—hadn't even managed to survive one sword before being cut in half.

That wasn't a man.

That was a monster—an ancient savage beast reborn, a slaughter god born from chaos itself.

He turned and ran without the slightest hesitation.

The holy radiance inside him burned to the limit in an instant, and he shot toward the east like a golden meteor.

He was faster than he'd been on the way here—several times faster.

It was the speed of a man burning away his own source to stay alive, each breath costing him hundreds of years of cultivation.

Jared didn't pursue him.

He lowered the Dragonslayer Sword and watched the golden streak vanish into the east, his gaze calm.

To the east lay the ruins of Pole Star Hall.

And beyond that, the void passage leading to the Eighteenth Firmament.

"He'll go back and report this."

Venerable Glacier came to stand beside him, his voice low.

"The celestial powers in the Eighteenth Firmament won't let this go. One Envoy was cut down with a single strike, and the other was beaten into a panicked retreat. To the celestials, that's an unforgivable humiliation. Next time, they won't send someone at Golden Immortal Level Three."

"So instead of waiting for them to come down, we'd be better off going up first."

Jared sheathed the Dragonslayer Sword and turned his violet eyes east.

"He's headed back to the Eighteenth Firmament. Good. I'll follow him straight there and use him to find the celestials' stronghold."

Venerable Glacier fell silent for a moment, then slowly nodded.

"The Eighteenth Firmament isn't like the Seventeenth. The celestial powers there are countless times stronger than Pole Star Hall ever was. You may be able to kill a Golden Immortal Level Three with one sword stroke, but in the Eighteenth Firmament, mightier powers are everywhere. Are you sure you want to go?"

Jared didn't answer.

He only rested a hand on the hilt of the Dragonslayer Sword.

That was answer enough.

She was silent for a long time before she finally said, "I've lived for tens of thousands of years, and I've never seen anyone like him."

The wind lifted her white hair and tore her voice into fragments.

"Maybe it's time the heavens of the Eighteenth Firmament changed."

Venerable Glacier stood beside her, his ice-blue robes snapping hard in the wind.

His gaze followed that fading violet radiance, and the corner of his mouth twitched.

"The Ancestor's remnant soul is still in that kid's consciousness field. I want that kid to stay alive for more than just the inheritance of the Frost Deity Branch."

He paused, then said nothing more.

But Morgana understood exactly what he meant.

It wasn't only about inheritance.

It was also about the humiliation of being oppressed, shut out, and crushed by the celestials for tens of thousands of years.

Jared had shattered the chains the celestials had locked around everyone in the Seventeenth Firmament.

And now he was going to the Eighteenth Firmament—to the true nest of the celestials—to keep walking the same path.

Maybe it was a road with no return.

But that youth had never looked like someone who intended to turn back.

The entrance to the void passage rushed closer and closer.

The force of Space Law surged at them like a rising tide.

Jared tightened his grip on Gwendolyn's hand, and together they stepped into the passage leading to the Eighteenth Firmament.

Behind them, the void passage slowly sealed shut.

The mountains and ruins of the Seventeenth Firmament vanished beyond space.

Ahead of them, the world of the Eighteenth Firmament began to unfold.

Its sky was broader. Its spiritual essence was denser.

And the enemies waiting there were stronger too.

But there wasn't a trace of fear on Jared's face.

He was only thinking about one thing—how he was supposed to open the door to the Chaos Sanctum.
