Through the surveillance footage, Joseph saw Fiona and the others waiting by his car. The moment he went down, they would forcibly take him away.

Joseph came up with a way to get away unnoticed. He used an ambulance to drive away from the hospital and meet up with Dolly.

Together, they went to one of her lakeside villas, which had been given to her by the property developer. Dolly rarely came by-no more than five times a month.

On the way to the villa, Dolly was secretly excited, thinking something might happen between them. But once they got there, Joseph remained polite and distant. Even when she left, he gave no hint of anything. 1

“Perhaps he’s not in the mood. And what’s up with me? Am I really that desperate for a man? What would people think of me?” On the way home, Dolly couldn’t help but laugh in embarrassment.

But Joseph wasn’t in the mood to be intimate. He simply wanted a quiet place where no one could disturb him so he could have a good rest.

That night, no one came to bother him, and Joseph slept soundly.

The next day, Joseph went back to work.

Yvette reviewed Ella’s medical report and realized her condition had worsened. She approached Joseph, who didn’t pursue any invasive treatment and simply substituted it with similar drugs and increased the dosage.

Joseph didn’t continue their discussion and proceeded with the treatment plan alongside his team. When he returned to his office, he realized Fiona had shown up uninvited.

“Joseph, where did you go last night?”

Without a word, he pulled out an order for an X-ray and told Fiona to get it done.

“I’m not sick…”

“No, you’re sick. Otherwise, why would you even show up at the hospital?”

Joseph ordered someone to escort Fiona out of his office. Then he had a nurse guide her through the process and accompany her for her X-ray.

Wherever Fiona went, the nurse followed. She even loudly reminded Fiona not to put off treatment out of embarrassment.
