Chapter 234
Joseph had no idea about what Brooke and Rosalie were up to. After all, he never thought of sleeping with Rosalie.
He would never even entertain the idea of providing for Brooke long-term. They weren’t even related, so he had no responsibility toward her.
Joseph simply wanted a place where he could rest properly-somewhere his friends and family, like Cora and Grace, couldn’t find him.
The same thing went on for the next three days. Over the weekend, he did not go to the hospital and chose to stay at Rosalie’s new place.
During the day, Rosalie and Brooke invited him to go shopping with them, but he turned them down as well.
At night, Rosalie offered to please him with her hands, but Joseph said he would rather go all the way. Otherwise he would rather not do anything at all. Rosalie could only give up on her idea.
On Monday, Joseph arrived at the hospital. As soon as he turned on his phone, he found himself bombarded with messages.
Most of them were from Cora, her family, and Grace, along with messages from Sally and Warren’s mistress. Jerome and his wife even invited him to their house for tea.
Joseph went through Cora’s texts first. She had asked why he had reported the Lowells for bribery, which had led to several family members being taken in for questioning. Even the person in charge of Bubbly Bay had been placed under investigation and would most likely be dismissed from office and his party as well.
Grace had messaged Joseph about the same thing, but she was more concerned about his safety.
Just then, the head nurse knocked on the door, saying there was an emergency. She had a relative with ties to the underworld whose hand had been cut off. She was hoping Joseph could help with the surgery to reattach his hand.
Joseph saw the head nurse as someone he could trust, so he immediately made a call to have the victim transferred to the ICU. He then personally took over the operation.
