While Joseph was still in the middle of surgery, he received word about the food poisoning at Jenton Girls’ School. He was told to prepare for emergency treatment.

Among the second batch of patients, Joseph saw Natalie. His heart ached, but his expression never changed. He devoted everything he had to save her. Of course, he gave every other patient the same level of care.

He dismissed everyone else from the room. Seeing that she was quite pretty, he leaned closer and asked, “What is it?”

The teacher answered in a low voice, “I’m Kenneth’s girlfriend. He asked me to give you a message. He said he’ll also be brought in tonight after being poisoned. He wants you to save his life, but he wants to remain unconscious.

A while later, Joseph regained some energy and opened his eyes. He said to Cora, “Natalie is fine now. If you want to transfer her to another hospital, just complete the paperwork.”

Cora responded, “I feel safer leaving Natalie with you. You’re a doctor. If anything happens, you’ll be able to treat her immediately.”

Cora was worried that if Natalie were transferred elsewhere and another emergency occurred, getting Joseph there would be far more difficult.

Natalie was already in the hospital, and Joseph was a doctor there. Both of them had spent years together. He would never harm her. He would only do everything possible to save her.

The person responsible for the poisoning was still at large. As long as she remained under his care, she would be safe. In fact, anyone under him would feel safe. That was the true value of an exceptional doctor.
