“What toxin? Explain yourself,” Cora said. She didn’t exactly trust Joseph anymore because he was no longer his old self, and she couldn’t quite keep him under control.

Joseph did not respond. Instead, he pulled three vials from his coat and handed them to Cora. “Here’s the antidote. You can only use them after a month.”

“What… What’s the meaning of this? You tainted their blood first and only told me afterward? Who said you could do this?”

Cora stared at Joseph, her gaze conflicted. Her eyes were filled with disbelief, shock, and fury.

“If you give them the antidote now, they’ll fall into a deep coma and most likely be left in a vegetative state,” Joseph said calmly.

Cora raised her hand, wanting to slap him, but he grabbed her wrist and pushed her hand away.

“Cora, this is my best chance to find out who their biological father is, and I won’t let it slip away. That’s why I’m’ not going to let you have your way!” Joseph’s tone grew colder as madness flickered in his eyes.

“Joseph, you… You’d better make sure these things work. Otherwise, we’ll go down together!”

Cora was on the verge of losing her mind as she carefully tucked the vials away. Joseph played his trump card, completely catching her off guard, and she was forced on the defensive.

Joseph didn’t want to waste any more time arguing with Cora and went to check on Natalie, Selena, and Kimberly. Cora kept following Joseph around, completely ignoring Helen’s meaningful looks. She knew what Helen wanted to say.
