A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 384

Chapter 384

Joseph stepped outside for a cigarette. He wasn’t in a hurry to leave. Instead, he wanted to see if Jenna could spot the problem. If she managed to unravel his scheme, Natalie and the others would end up in danger again.

Looking at the staff directory posters featuring Victor and Jenna, Joseph narrowed his eyes. A thought crossed his mind. It was time to challenge Jenna to a medical duel.

Previously, Jenna had tampered with some of Joseph’s former patients, causing their illnesses to relapse. It was despicable.

If Jenna couldn’t identify what was happening to Natalie and the others, Joseph would have even more confidence in taking on the Zahn medical sect.

By evening, Jenna sent Joseph the test results. Sure enough, she hadn’t discovered anything unusual about Natalie and the others. Her conclusion was simple. It was an unknown virus.

Seeing that the three children were under Cora’s protection, Joseph left, since he had nothing more to say to them.

That night, one of Joseph’s informants at the Traditional Medicine Center sent Joseph an update. Cora had assembled a panel of virology experts to consult on the mysterious virus affecting her daughters.

Cora didn’t want to wait an entire month. She didn’t want to remain dependent on Joseph either. He immediately understood that she no longer trusted him.

He let out a mocking laugh. “The children aren’t mine. She has other men in her life. There was no longer any meaningful bond tying us together. Who am I to her?”

The next day, Joseph didn’t go to the Traditional Medicine Center. Instead, he stayed at his clinic. He also received an update regarding the teacher who had drawn blood from Natalie and the others.

The teacher had fled, and there was no surveillance footage or records. The police only helped locate the teacher, but no criminal case had been opened.

Meanwhile, Joseph shifted his attention back to the Zahn family. He still trusted his instincts. The people behind those teachers had to be the Zahn family.

After treating patients all day, Joseph noticed that Natalie and the others showed no signs of improvement. Everything was unfolding exactly as he had planned.

Early in the morning, Joseph was exercising on a treadmill when his phone suddenly rang. It was a call from an unknown number.
