Jenna asked, “What about Marla’s husband? Are you not going to the hospital to save him?”

Joseph answered coldly, “Do you truly think that he’ll survive if I show up? You give me far too much credit. Besides, Marla knows the truth about my daughters, yet she refuses to tell me. Does she think I’m an idiot?/

“I saved her family last time, and look at how she repaid me. The moment she got what she wanted, she kicked the ladder away.”

Currently, his priority was finding his daughters’ biological father. He wanted to find the man Cora cheated on him with. Then, he would divorce her and go their separate ways, never having anything to do with each other again.

Joseph walked over to the couch in the living room and lit a cigarette. He asked, “Jenna, have you ever thought about what you’ll do if the Zahn family falls?”

Jenna didn’t like his habit of smoking, but he refused to listen to her. She felt helpless. If she complained, he would just call her a nagging housewife. She had no choice but to tolerate it. She even comforted herself with the thought that he wouldn’t be staying here forever.

She shot back, “Will the Zahn family fall? How? Because of you?”

Joseph replied, “Of course, not. I can’t take down the Zahn family, but they aren’t as invincible as they look. The elders refuse to die, and they can’t create value for the family anymore. Instead, they use the blood of their own descendants to extend their lives. They’re heartless.
