Chapter 467
Cora decided to focus on the kids for now and left with the prescription. Not long after, Jenna arrived.
She noticed the change in Joseph right away and asked, “You didn’t actually leave Jenton, did you? Did you just put on a disguise, hide out here, and watch us make fools of ourselves?
“You must be thrilled that I couldn’t cure Yara.”
“You give yourself way too much credit, and I couldn’t care less about Yara. Whatever mess you people are in has, nothing to do with me.
“But since you’re already here, let me give you a piece of advice. If you don’t have the skills, don’t take on jobs you can’t handle.”
Joseph motioned for Jenna to sit before pouring her a cup of coffee.
Just like before, Jenna waited for Joseph to take the first sip before she drank hers. She still didn’t trust him, especially this new version of Joseph who had just suddenly popped back up in Jenton.
While Joseph was pouring the coffee for her, he said, “In any case, I have to thank you. Without you, I never would’ve found the biological father of the children.”
“Who is the father?”
Jenna was shocked. She hadn’t expected Joseph to actually find the man Cora had an affair with, so her curiosity was immediately piqued.
“Skylar Zahn.”
“What makes you so sure it is him?” Jenna asked, confused.
“DNA testing. The girls’ genetic profiles are a perfect match with Skylar’s. That’s ironclad proof. Now, I have all the answers and the truth. You all worked so hard to keep it buried. I almost feel sorry for all the trouble you went through.”
Joseph’s voice was eerily calm, carrying a cold, murderous edge.
“DNA testing? Then that settles it! So what are you planning to do next?”
