Joseph broke out in a cold sweat at Cora’s suspicions. He had to admit that after living together for so many years, she understood him better than most people did.

And with that one move, she had pushed him into a dangerous predicament.

She was handing everyone a clue for free, making sure no one would overlook Joseph as a suspect.

As expected, Gemma immediately understood her intentions and asked Cora to stay. In front of everyone, she called Arthur and the others, organizing an investigation on the spot.

After hearing the situation, Arthur’s group immediately began reviewing surveillance footage and identifying everyone who had entered the room that day before conducting background checks on them.

Joseph had been busy running his little money-making scheme with Yara and rarely visited the treatment ward. After setting his trap, all he had to do was wait for someone to spring it, so there was no reason for him to go anywhere near Skylar’s room unless absolutely necessary.

Whether through luck or careful planning, Joseph successfully avoided becoming a target of the investigation.

Looking at Cora’s cold and detached expression, Joseph found her increasingly heartless and ungrateful.

He was standing right in front of her, watching her accuse him of all this. It was quite a frustrating feeling.

Meanwhile, Cora paid no attention whatsoever to him. She was busy speaking on the phone, instructing her team. to analyze the hospital’s surveillance footage in hopes of finding signs that Joseph or one of his associates had appeared at the Traditional Medicine Center.

However, Joseph had never contacted Katie or any of the others, so naturally, no suspicion fell on him.

Though Cora and the others found nothing, Joseph managed to identify a suspicious individual. It was someone who wasn’t even considered a primary suspect by Arthur’s group, despite being among the people closest to Skylar when his condition suddenly worsened.

That person’s name was Kaya Crevey.

Joseph committed the name to memory without exposing her on the spot.

The preliminary background investigation failed to uncover the culprit. Even so, the Zahn family felt there were still unanswered questions and insisted that the investigation continue.

Joseph frowned slightly. He was naturally worried that a prolonged investigation might eventually expose him. However, he thought it over carefully and couldn’t find any flaws in his plans. How could the Zahn family possibly suspect him?

Still, Cora’s actions had undoubtedly stirred up quite the commotion.

Belinda and Peyton also arrived and immediately questioned Gemma. Both of them wanted to know whether Joseph had appeared at the hospital.

Although they received a negative answer, neither of them was willing to give up. They refused to believe Joseph could disappear into hiding and not make any moves.
