After getting the location of Skylar’s men, Joseph immediately put his plans into motion. Once the location was confirmed, he would move with lightning speed and take control of everyone there.
Meanwhile, in the early hours of the morning, Joseph, as himself, finally appeared at Traditional Medicine Center. He brought his men with him and entered Yara’s ward.
Yara exclaimed, “Joseph, you’re here! I knew you wouldn’t leave me to suffer!”
The moment Yara saw Joseph, she was elated. Earlier that day, she had just been mocked and insulted by Henry. She couldn’t even argue back. She had been thinking about Joseph more and more, hoping he would appear like a hero and rescue her from misery.
Joseph examined Yara’s injuries and said, “Your injuries aren’t minor, but they aren’t life-threatening either. Other than recovering your knees, there’s nothing here that requires my attention. I’ll perform the knee surgery myself. You’ll be able to stand again.”
Yara asked, “Do you want to transfer me to your place? In that way, the surgery can be carried out smoothly. This is Henry’s territory, and he has been waiting for you to show up. If you perform a surgery that takes several hours here, he’ll notice.”
“No need. What could that freak do? He has been living under my nose this entire time. I have people at both this hospital and Jenton University Hospital. If I decide I don’t like him, I can deal with him whenever I want. I’ll give him a warning later. If he disrespects you again, I’ll castrate him,” stated Joseph.
Yara hummed in response. “I believe you can do it.”
Yara thought about how Joseph had managed to set fire to Lowell Group while avoiding her surveillance and Cora. Clearly, he had more power and connections than she realized.
Joseph added, “As for Cora, I’m not going after her. That’s between the two of you.”
“Do you not care about me anymore? Are you not even going to stand up for me?” Yara complained. Her mood instantly turned sour. She couldn’t believe Joseph wouldn’t go after Cora for her. Didn’t that mean she had been beaten up for no reason? She was in disbelief.
Joseph replied, “I don’t want to see that disgusting woman. Every time I get close to her, something goes wrong for me.”
Joseph gave Yara a disdainful look. “I’ll fix your legs. You can deal with her yourself and get your dignity back. If you can’t even beat her after I’ve done all this for you, you’re useless to me. There’s no reason for us to keep seeing each other either.”
“How could I lose to her?” Yara shot back.
“That’s great then. Let’s begin the surgery,” said Joseph.
Joseph signaled for the anesthesiologist to get started, and the surgery began. He had already performed the same procedure on Alice before. Compared with that surgery, this one was even easier. Everything went smoothly, and he worked quickly and efficiently.
Before dawn, Joseph-secretly switched back to his fake identity. He even managed to catch a short nap in his

office.
For the next two days, Joseph deliberately avoided appearing in front of Yara while she was awake. He wanted her to believe that his fake identity had no idea she had undergone surgery, giving her time to recover.
After learning that Eugene had returned and could summon Joseph at any moment, Joseph became concerned. Once he entered Emerald Mountain, getting back out might not be so easy. So, he decided to see what information he could get from Skylar first.
Skylar grumbled, “Why is it you again? Did you do something to me? Is that why I can only wake up when you’re around?”
When Skylar woke up and found Joseph standing there, he was displeased. He wanted to see Yara and his people to arrange things.
“It’s nothing like that. It’s just a coincidence. Maybe it’s fate. Besides, I’m the leader of the medical team here. I have access to certain special medicine, including ones that can bring you back to consciousness,” responded Joseph.
He deliberately slipped an empty syringe into his pocket and added, “That isn’t important. Your people are useless. Cora’s people completely wiped the floor with them.”
Joseph pulled out a picture showing Skylar’s men with battered faces, looking thoroughly beaten. It was a horrifying sight.
Joseph sighed. “I warned you. Cora is working with the Dixon family now. She has money and power. She’s practically untouchable. If you want to take her down, you have to bring out everything you have.”
Skylar’s expression darkened. “What about Tessa and my children? Have they been rescued?”
