Daniel and Winona looked at Joseph in surprise. There was no record of him in their database. They wondered how Owen could have a son this young.

Owen was pleased with Joseph’s respectful demeanor, as well as how surprised Daniel and Winona were.

He said, “Henry, come meet our guests.”

Joseph greeted them politely. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Dixon Senior and Ms. Murphy.”

Daniel nodded with a smile.

Winona chuckled too. “You know who we are, but we don’t know you. Why don’t you introduce yourself?

Joseph said, “I’m just a nobody. I’m an ordinary doctor working for the medical sect.”

Rhea said, “You’re being too modest.”

She then introduced him to Daniel and Winona. “This is Henry Zahn, my partner. He handles the medical sect affairs.

“So you’re the young man who’s in charge of the Zahn medical sect. Everyone’s been talking about you lately. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Winona rose to her feet.

Even though she was a guest, Joseph was the head of the medical sect and Owen’s son-in-law. He was

well above her in status.

Of course, Winona was a little puzzled too. Joseph was such an ugly man, yet Rhea had chosen to marry him. He must have had something special about him. She was determined to get to know him better.

Joseph exchanged a few polite words with Winona before turning to Owen. He already had a good idea why he had been called back.

Owen wanted the Zahns to join forces with the Dixons and take on Cora and Joseph, but he couldn’t say that out loud.

Sure enough, on the surface, Daniel claimed that he wanted to take back the money he had invested in Cora’s business and help the Zahns through their crisis.

But in reality, Daniel was after Cora’s wealth. When she turned her back on the Dixons and started taking them out, they realized they could no longer control her, so they had no choice but to resort to

violence.

The problem was that someone dangerous was operating in the shadows in Jenton, using poison and arson to keep the Dixons at bay. The Zahns were incredibly powerful, yet without anyone to do their work, they could only stay on the defensive.

Owen and Daniel didn’t have to say much. They reminisced about the past over some tea and quickly came to an agreement. While they were talking about important matters, Joseph, Rhea, and Winona were asked to step outside.

Rhea stopped Joseph and told him to come with her to another room. She had someone add his name to he family records. With that, their marriage was official.

That was when Joseph found out that the two previous heads of the medical sect had also married Owen’s daughters. Owen had been controlling the sect all along.

Joseph asked Rhea in a low voice, “That means we’re married now, aren’t we? Does that mean we can have sex?”

“You… You still owe me a bottle of that good stuff, don’t you? Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until I actually want it before we can sleep together.” Rhea’s expression remained cold.

“You’re just trying to escape reality, not kill yourself! If you take too much of that stuff, it might come to a point where you can’t undo the damage.

“What’s the point of destroying yourself? Getting that stuff takes time and the right opportunity. Just wait a little longer.”
