Chapter 349 Under the Hood

At her words, a deep smile flickered in Mason’s eyes. Following the pull of her hand, he leaned down slowly, his phone and upper body moving closer together.
As he drew near, his head dipped too. Their cheeks were almost touching.
Amelia was focused on the photo when his low, rough voice brushed her ear.
“So, do you want my hand to move a little lower,” he paused, his breath grazing the corner of her lips, “or something else?”
The last two words were spoken softly on purpose. They sent a faint shiver through her, straigh from her ear to her chest.
And with it came a sense of danger.
Amelia looked at him with clear, steady eyes. “There are so many people here. You’re not seriously thinking of doing something, are you?”
She thought that warning would make him hold back.
Mason simply raised an eyebrow.
He looked down at her. His gaze slid from her slightly trembling lashes to her lips, pressed tigh with nerves.
“Yeah,” he said calmly. “I want to kiss you.”
Something snapped in Amelia’s mind.
H–how could he say something like that so casually?
She sucked in a sharp breath and, without thinking, reached up and covered his lips with her hand.
“No!” she whispered, flustered and embarrassed. “I don’t want everyone to look at us!”
Warmth pressed into her palm, soft and unmistakable. She could feel the shape of his lips clearly.
Mason didn’t move. He let her hold him there, his eyes curving into a quiet smile at such close
range.
Her heart started racing. Just as she was about to pull her hand back, he moved.
Chapter 349 Under the Hood
Mason lifted his hand and caught the edge of his black outdoor jacket’s hood.
With a gentle tug, the wide hood fell forward. Shadows dropped instantly.
The extra space inside wrapped both their faces in darkness.
The light dimmed. The low chatter of nearby guests faded to the distance.
All Amelia could see now was the clean line of his jaw.

Before she could fully react, he tilted his head slightly. His warm lips slipped past her hand and landed right on hers.
His voice, blurred with a hint of triumph, brushed against her lips.
“I don’t give a damn about that.”
The kiss carried the warm, slightly bitter taste of the latte he had just finished. It was gentle at first, slow and careful.
Just as Amelia’s tense body finally began to relax, that softness suddenly changed.
His presence turned strong and overwhelming in an instant, flooding her senses.
Amelia quickly felt the air thinning around her.
Her thoughts shattered under the sudden deep kiss. She could only cling to him without thinking.
She had never been kissed like this before. So intense, Amelia felt like she might suffocate, as if even her breath, even her soul, were being pulled away.
Amelia didn’t know how much time passed. When the air in her lungs was almost gone, she finally snapped back to her senses. She clenched her fists and weakly tapped his chest several times, barely using any strength.
Only then did Mason seem satisfied. He slowly let her go.
He lifted the hood of his jacket again, and warm, bright light poured down. Amelia squinted, finding it almost too bright.
She gasped for air, breathing hard. Her cheeks were flushed red. Her eyes were watery and unfocused, still caught in a daze. Her lips were swollen and slightly parted from the kiss, looking both vivid and pitiful.
In truth, Mason’s movements had been quick and smooth. With the wide hood blocking the view, no one in the coffee shop had noticed what happened in that quiet corner.
