Chapter 45 Face to Face

Since you love leverage so much, let’s see how you enjoy losing everything.

Isabella’s gaze turned lethal.

Slamming her laptop shut, she drifted right off to sleep.

Early the next morning, Isabella hopped into her personal sedan and headed out.

After the previous day’s disaster, Hannah didn’t dare try to hijack Isabella’s ride again.

She was genuinely terrified that Isabella would pull over onto the highway and kick her out of the vehicle.

Hannah used to think the girl wouldn’t have the guts, but now she wasn’t certain of anything

anymore.

To make matters worse, she had spent hours weeping and whining to Isaac last night, but he completely blew her off.

Even though Isaac looked stressed out over the drama, Hannah could see clear as day that he had zero intention of scolding Isabella.

That realization sent a massive jolt of panic straight through Hannah’s chest.

Thank god Adrian had come home last night.

Word around the house was that Adrian had given Isabella an absolute earful.

Apparently, the two of them had a massive shouting match.

Isaac had to step in just to keep Adrian from throwing Isabella out of the estate entirely.

Hannah secretly gloated at the thought.

She originally intended to rub it right into Isabella’s face the second she saw her.

But with Isaac lingering nearby, she forced herself to play nice and keep her mouth shut.

The moment they stepped onto campus, she bounced over to block Isabella’s path, her voice practically dripping with syrupy sweetness as she cooed, See, Isabella? Didn’t I tell you so?

Mia’s family business has major ties with ours.

There was no way Adrian would ever let you press charges against her crew.

If you had just listened to me in class yesterday and dropped it, you would’ve at least walked away looking gracious.

Now Mia’s perfectly fine, and you still have to swallow your pride and bow down to them. Was all that drama really worth it?

She flashed a brilliant, triumphant smile, elegantly tossing her long hair over her shoulder as she purred, I was genuinely trying to look out for you, Isabella.

It’s such a shame you threw my kindness back in my face. It really broke my heart.”

She suppressed a giggle, her face bursting with absolute joy.

After all, once they walked into the classroom, a completely vindicated Mia would definitely lead her crew over to gloat over Isabella.

When that happened, Isabella would finally realize she should’ve listened to her all along.

Plus, since the entire class had heard her trying to play the peacemaker yesterday, everyone would view her as the sweet, mature daughter who put her family first.

Meanwhile, Isabella would be exposed as a petty, aggressive brat who tried to use the family name to bully people.

And she failed miserably at it, getting thoroughly humiliated by Mia’s crew in the end!

At those delicious thoughts, Hannah covered her mouth and let out a smug chuckle, her eyes practically overflowing with arrogance.

Isabella cast a brief, icecold look at her triumphant face and said flatly, Move.

She had zero interest in watching this pathetic, amateur performance.

Without breaking her stride, Isabella marched straight ahead.

She didn’t put the brakes on at all; caught completely off guard, Hannah never expected Isabella to literally plow right through her, and it was already too late to step aside.

With a sharp shriek, she was violently thrown to the side, her balance completely shot. She nearly crashed facefirst onto the concrete, only managing to save herself by grabbing the nearby railing.

A sharp, throbbing pain shot through her entire left shoulder.

What the hell is this b*tch made of?!

How can someone have that much freaky strength!

Hannah stomped her feet in pure, unadulterated rage.

Isabella strolled casually into the classroom.

Noah was already slouched in his usual seat across the room.

Ordinarily at this hour, he would have already been passed out on his desk catching up on sleep.

But right now, he was propping his chin up with one hand, watching her walk through the door. As she approached, he flashed a wide smirk and asked, So? Think things over last night?

Word is the Bexleys phoned your oldest brother directly.”

His smile widened, his face dripping with pure, unadulterated amusement.

For a kid with his elite background, digging up that kind of corporate gossip was a complete walk in the park.

As he spoke, Isabella’s expression remained completely flat. She gave him a brief glance and murmured indifferently, You seriously have too much time on your hands.

Noah’s grin turned even more pronounced as he countered, Hey, can you blame me? I’m just a very caring classmate.

Deciding she was completely done with him, Isabella ignored him entirely, tossed her bag into her desk, and immediately slumped over to take a nap.

Noah stared at her, thoroughly speechless.

Seriously, why do you even bother showing up to school every day?he muttered with a chuckle. You might as well leave your bag at home; it’s not like you actually carry books in there anyway.”

He teased, shaking his head.

Catching his comment, Isabella shot him a fleeting glance and replied flatly, Exactly.
