Chapter 7 Into the Darknet

Beep, beep, beep!

Finished

Someone at the Darknet Control Center suddenly detected an invasive data stream within the Darknet.

But quickly, that monitoring alarm fell silent.

They got up to check and didn’t notice anything unusual on the screen.

The personnel at the Darknet Control Center then began an internal system check.

Talk about bad luck, how many false alarms is that now? These recent hacker attacks are just out of control. D*mn it, can’t these guys just stop messing around? They’re constantly trying to breach our Darknet. Do they really think they’re gods or something?

What a bunch of b*stards! Let’s dig up some small fries and give them a nice treat! Cripple their national networks!

The group grumbled while running checks and also took the chance to root out some minor pests to give them a good thrashing.

While the Darknet folks were complaining, Isabella’s data had already smoothly infiltrated the Darknet.

She raised an eyebrow slightly, feeling rather speechless.

The computers at this internet cafe were just too old and slow.

She almost got caught by the Darknet personnel because the machine responded too slowly.

If she had really been exposed like that, it would’ve been laughably embarrassing.

Isabella deftly infiltrated the Darknet’s main server and imprinted her information onto it.

All the data was crafted to be incredibly realistic, seamlessly blending into the Darknet’s existing user database like flowing water.

Soon, Isabella had a code name within the DarknetDeity.

She controlled her account to enter the Darknet’s exclusive forum.

This was a shadowy world completely different from reality.

More than once in this forum, Isabella saw various…. legally questionable topics and discussions.

All sorts of shocking statements that bombarded the senses were just daily fare here.

Isabella scrolled past these large swathes of indescribable content and finally found what she was looking

for.

HOT! Major conflict erupts in XXX waters. The President issues Slevel mission call, demanding the secret base at coordinates 725, 873be recaptured within 24 hours. Bounty doubled to 3 billion USD.

Countless fiery tags blazed across her vision, each emblazoned with large golden characters.

She lowered her gaze and stared at the glittering golden hub she had just entered.

This was a hidden mission hub deep within the Darknet, accessible only to those who met strict qualifications.

Newcomers who had just joined the Darknet stood no chance of gaining entry here.

But Isabella effortlessly found its internal address and added herself in.

Her Deity account was only level zero.

However, in the Darknet’s mission area, they usually didn’t care much about level; they valued capability.

The fact that Isabella could enter meant she had sufficient capability to take on missions.

Inside, a deep purple message kept flashing.

It was triggering the highestlevel emergency mission alert.

This meant the party behind this message had paid a huge price, demanding the task be completed within an extremely short timeframe, with rewards multiplied by ten.

These emergency alerts rarely appeared because the cost to issue them was enormous, and most people didn’t choose this option.

The moment Isabella entered the hub, she saw this mission.

She glanced at the requirements and accepted the mission without hesitation.

The others in the mission hub who were browsing saw the deep purple message flicker and then disappear from their view.

Then, a system announcement echoed through the hub.

Deity and Zeus have accepted the mission.

What?!

Are you people octopuses or something?!

r

What kind of hand speed is that?!

And they had only just seen the mission details!

Didn’t these people need to consider whether the mission was even possible to complete?!

Chapter 7 Into the Darknet

Were they crazy?!

Finished

If a purple emergency mission wasn’t completed on tirne, it triggered offline doxxing and pursuit by the Darknet.

Unless you never went online again, you couldn’t escape the Darknet’s retaliation.

Moreover, those who could post such missions were no ordinary folks.

If you strung them along, accepting the mission but failing to deliver, you were absolutely asking for extreme consequences.

This was also why people in the Darknet’s mission hub were relatively restrained.

Otherwise, given their fearless nature, they’d just grab any mission first and think later.

If they couldn’t finish it, they’d just run away!

Someone glanced at the system announcement and remarked with some curiosity, It’s Zeus.

That’s not surprising. I heard he’s been desperate for cash lately due to some issues, taking on missions like crazy in the Darknet recently.

But who is this Deity? Never heard of them.”

Someone clicked on Isabella’s account profile and said, somewhat exasperated, It’s actually a levelzero

newbie account.

You’ve got to be kidding me?

Which big shot created a smurf account to take missions?

Big shots don’t need smurf accounts, do they?

Besides, getting access requires verification and review of your skills and qualifications.

Where would so many big shots with smurf accounts come from?

Are they insane? With that much assets and unique capabilities, able to fool the Darknet’s verification?

The crowd murmured among themselves.

No one really doubted Isabella’s account lacked capability.

After all, most who could join this hub had some skills.

They just didn’t understand why Isabella would accept the highestlevel emergency bounty right off the bat.

These missions were timesensitive, urgent, had numerous requirements, and most importantly

They were a huge, huge pain!

If you failed, there were penalties!

Finished

Everyone had worked hard to level up in the Darknet and naturally didn’t want to lose everything over one purple bounty.

They hadn’t expected this levelzero newbie to have such guts.

But she was probably going to come up empty this time.

This levelzero newbie is in trouble now. The one who took the mission is Zeus, known as the King of the Gods.

This guy might have an arrogant tone, but his mission skills are truly topnotch. They call him the Phantom Hand.

This mission is about coordinate tracking, which happens to be his specialty.

The others glanced at the mission requirements: to track down the whereabouts of an item.

These kinds of missions were the worst.

Because people were alive, but objects were inanimate.

Living things left trails, had dynamic signatures, and were traceable.

But how did you find an inanimate object?

Someone could be moving it around or stash it somewhere for decades without touching it; you’d have no idea where it was.

On the mission platform, the most common posts/were these find the itemrequests, piled up who knows how high, with very few people able to complete them.

Not to mention, the client now demanded the item’s location be found within fourteen hours.

Fourteen hours, for people in the Darknet, was enough time to take that item and hide it at the ends of the earth!

It was practically an impossible mission!
