A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 242

Janice was infuriated as she listened to her friends constantly mention Sierra. She yelled, "What's so special about second place? If you're so curious, go ask her yourselves."

Watching her storm off, her friends exchanged looks and pursed their lips.

Someone, unhappy with being yelled at, murmured, "Why is she acting so proudly? If Sierra hadn't made that mistake, who knows who would've won first place?"

Another person chimed in, "Exactly! And why is she yelling at us? No wonder nobody likes her, even though she got first place!"

Hearing their words, Janice spun around, fuming, and took a few steps toward them.

But the ones talking quickly walked away, not wanting to argue with her.

Janice bit her lip angrily as she watched them leave. She was the one who won first place, yet whether online or at school, everyone was more focused on Sierra who came in second.

Since when did second place have more prestige than first place?

That wasn't fair. Things weren't going how she had expected them to go.

She could understand strangers acting that way, but why was her own strict mother treating Sierra differently too?

Jance lowered her head, the joy of winning first place fading, replaced by frustration and jealousy.

Sierra was so annoying!

Sierra stood outside Jemima's office, nervously gripping at the hem of her clothes.

Taking a deep breath, she patted her chest, straightened her clothes and lifted her hand. The second she knocked on the door, she heard someone say, "Come in."

Hearing Jemina's voice, Sierra couldn't help but smile as she pushed open the door. She called out cheerfully, "Ms. Anderson!"

Jemima smiled warmly and beckoned her over. "Come on in."

The other teachers in the office also recognized Sierra. They had even been talking about how envious they were of Jemima for having such a talented student.

"Sierra, come on in."

Not everyone who left stopped practicing the piano would be able to return to where they were. Without connections, skill, and luck, succeeding was basically impossible.

Hence, some people envied Sierra because of how difficult it was, while others admired her for it.

Cayden was one of those admirers, and his eyes immediately brightened when he heard that Sierra had returned to school.

"Help me bring my things back to our class," Cayden said while handing his things to his friend. Then, he turned around to leave.

Seeing him leave in such a hurry, his friend was confused. "Where is he rushing off to?"

After listening to Jemima's advice, Sierra stood up, getting ready to leave.

Just then, a female teacher beside them suddenly pulled out a notebook and handed it to her.

"Didn't we just agree that you'd give me an autograph? Here, sign it, and personalize it for me!"

Sierra was momentarily stunned as she held the pen that had been shoved into her hand. She then looked at that teacher in confusion.
