A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 329

Cayden was among the first participants to go on stage. Janice and Felicia were both quite lucky as they received the numbers 42 and 43, respectively.

Glancing at their numbers, Sierra calmly stuck her number on her clothes. She got number 26.

The competition commenced quickly. She sat on her chair and listened with her eyes closed. At the same time, she was composing herself as well.

Theo sat next to her and held her hand, offering her quiet company. Before long, it was Cayden's turn to go on stage. His peers got up and offered words of encouragement.

Sierra also smiled, mentioning, "Go get 'em, Cayden."

Cayden grinned tenderly. Being an innocent university student, he managed to charm many young students.

"I'll give it my best. Here's to hoping we can compete on an international level together." If he couldn't become her boyfriend, they would fight for their careers side by side.

Sierra was stunned. Then, she nodded firmly.

"Cayden, I'll also do my best to catch up to you," Felicia promised, staring at him intently and clenching her fists.

Although Cayden was still grinning, the tenderness in his eyes was gone. Then, he responded nonchalantly, "Sure. Give it your best."

Felicia could tell he was phoning it in, and she lowered her hand awkwardly. Then, she gave Sierra a death stare.

Theo noticed it and stood in Felicia's way, obstructing her view.

Suddenly, Felicia found herself looking into an icy gaze, and she couldn't help but tremble. Then, she quickly turned away.

Wearing a white suit, Cayden walked to the stage and bowed. After he took a seat at the piano, he started his performance, and the notes conveyed the warmth reminiscent of his personality.

Sierra closed her eyes and curled her lips. Respectfully, she said, "Cayden has really improved."

"Is it a good performance?" Theo suddenly asked, his eyes darkening.

She sat at the piano gracefully, took a deep breath, and put her hands on the keys.

The melodious notes were rich with emotions, and the judges visibly enjoyed the music. Meanwhile, every participant in the backstage area looked surprised, except for Cayden.

Before this, they believed that Sierra crowned herself as Queen of the Keys and that her piano skills were average at best. After all, she merely got second place at the Marisol Cup.

They kept looking down on her until they heard her playing today.

Needless to say, Janice and Felicia had the most terrible expressions. They realized the huge gap between them and Sierra, but that wasn't to say that they willingly accepted it.

"She's just playing smoother than usual," said Janice stubbornly. "I can do the same, too."

Felicia was utterly humiliated. She didn't manage to win any placements during the Marisol Cup, and it seemed highly unlikely that she would be in the top ten this time.

There was nothing she could do about losing to Sierra last time, but she couldn't afford to lose with Cayden around today.
