Chapter 585-2
They all knew exactly what shipment he was referring to.
The agreement between Silver Hollow and North Ridge had been one of the few remaining trade relationships that had not completely collapsed.
The arrangement had been simple.
Silver Hollow would provide the promised goods within the agreed timeframe, and North Ridge would provide their own resources and support in return.
North Ridge had been generous and had even paid for part of the shipment.
But the shipment never arrived.
At first, there had been attempts to delay the situation. Explanations had been given. Promises had been made that the matter would be resolved.
But time had passed, and North Ridge had reached its limit.
Jason continued reading the message.
“He believes Silver Hollow’s failure to deliver the goods is a direct breach of the alliance between our packs.”
The words settled heavily among the council members.
A breach of agreement was not something that could simply be ignored.
Especially between two powerful packs. Trade agreements were built on trust.
Promises between Alphas were not treated like simple business arrangements between individuals. They represented the strength and reliability of an entire pack.
If one side failed to uphold their responsibility, it reflected on the leadership behind it.
Jason lowered the message slightly.
“Conrad is refusing to accept mere explanations about delays or internal problems.”
The silence that followed was uncomfortable.
Everyone understood why.
It was obvious that North Ridge did not care about Silver Hollow’s struggles.

They cared about what had been promised and what had not been delivered.
Jason continued.
“He has given us a deadline.”
That immediately caught everyone’s attention more than before.
A deadline meant this had moved beyond a simple complaint.
“Silver Hollow has until the end of the week to either deliver the missing goods in full…”
Jason paused.
“…or provide compensation that North Ridge considers acceptable for their losses.”
A council member frowned.
“And if we cannot?”
Jason looked down at the message.
His expression darkened.
“Then Conrad will consider it a deliberate act of disrespect against North Ridge.”
The room became completely silent. Everyone understood what that meant.
Conrad had chosen his words carefully. He wasn’t directly declaring war.
Not yet. But he was making sure Silver Hollow understood the consequences awaiting them if they failed to respond.
This was a warning. A final opportunity.
If Silver Hollow ignored him, Conrad would have every reason to claim that they had insulted North Ridge and violated their agreement.
And once that happened…
The situation would no longer be about missing goods. It would become a matter of honour. A matter of reputation. A matter that could justify retaliation.
One of the elders slowly leaned forward.
“He’s not just asking for compensation.”
Jason looked at him.

The elder’s expression was grim.
“He’s measuring our response now.”
No one disagreed.

That was the truth everyone in the room understood. Conrad wasn’t simply angry because a shipment had failed to arrive.
He was watching Silver Hollow… testing them.
He wanted to know whether they had the strength to stand against pressure or whether the recent losses had weakened them beyond recovery.
And unfortunately…
Silver Hollow was not in the position they once were. And North Ridge was not the only pack
that had noticed.
The destruction of the main supply depot had changed everything. The attack had taken away more than physical resources.
It had damaged their stability.
Large amounts of stored supplies had been lost. Weapons had been destroyed. Materials needed for rebuilding had disappeared overnight.
The pack had spent weeks trying to recover from the damage, but recovery required time.
Time they did not have.
Their resources were stretched thin. Their defences were functional, but they were not as strong as they should have been.
A serious attack from any powerful pack would put Silver Hollow under extreme pressure.
The council members knew this, and Jason himself knew it too.
They had seen the reports. They had watched Silver Hollow struggle to regain its footing.
And now North Ridge had placed them in a position where weakness could no longer be
hidden.
If Conrad decided to attack, Silver Hollow would fight. But everyone in the room understood that it would not be the same as before.
