The crowd erupted.
The reporters' cameras clicked wildly.
Daggers of disdain, contempt, and scorn pierced Iris from every direction.
Her face was ashen, her lips trembling, unable to form a single word.
The video on the screen continued, but then it cut to a new clip.
It was proof of Iris's frame-up of Summer.
The miscarriage Summer had suffered when she was barely three months pregnant-it was Iris who had paid someone to cause a car accident, deliberately making Summer lose the baby. The video played a crystal-clear conversation between Iris and the driver.
"Remember, make it look like a regular accident. That bastard child in the bitch's stomach has to go."
The driver was a terminally ill patient with less than six months to live. Iris had paid him thirty thousand dollars to cause the miscarriage.
The cruelest joke of all? The thirty thousand dollars had come from Vincent.
The ballroom exploded into chaos once more.
The elegant facades of the socialites crumbled, replaced by expressions of utter disbelief.
"My God! That's monstrous. You wouldn't even see that in a movie."
"Thirty grand for a life? Is Vincent an idiot? How could he protect such a venomous woman?"
"Using his own money to kill his own child... that's beyond evil. Why aren't those two scumbags in hell already..."
Amidst the rising tide of gasps, the next video began.
This time, the screen showed Iris pouring a white powder into a water glass-the one Summer used every morning.
The security camera captured the twisted pleasure in her eyes, a horrifying contrast to the woman now crumpled on the floor.
Later, she had found footage of Iris sneaking around in the middle of the night, putting something in her water glass.
She'd only discovered the video after returning to the country.
At the time, she had no idea what Iris was putting in her glass. The thought of poison never crossed her mind, especially since she never felt sick immediately after drinking the water.
It was only after hearing Fairchild's diagnosis that she connected the dots.
Summer had pulled out her phone and found the video she'd saved.
And just like that, the whole horrifying truth came to light.
From somewhere in the crowd, someone couldn't help but shout, "What the fuck!" It was followed by another, "Holy shit!" and then another, "That bitch..."
Soon, the whispers turned into a roar.
