Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 157

Hearing this, everyone in the crowd turned to stare at Yates.

How could he say something so shameless? It was laughable.

A dung beetle trying to pass itself off as a butterfly.

Melody gritted her teeth, her eyes red not with tears, but with pure hatred.

At that moment, she wanted to kill him.

How could a person be so shameless, so evil?

He would do anything for his own gain. What were feelings to him? What were women?

Seeing the raw hatred in Melody's eyes, Yates grew anxious.

"Melody, what's wrong? Don't listen to gossip. I'll explain everything later."

Faced with Yates's hypocrisy, Melody gave a bitter, hollow laugh.

"Heh, having a lot of fun with your cousin, were you? Too bad you're a three-second man."

"Huh?" Yates didn't understand at first, but then he heard a wave of laughter from the crowd.

Janina, Maggie, and Wendy were staring at him with eyes that chilled him — a mix of mockery and pure murder.

When he finally processed her words, it all clicked into place.

Their gazes felt like they were piercing through him, exposing his most pathetic, ugly secrets.

Before he could react, a series of sharp slaps landed across his face.

Yates looked up in disbelief at the enraged Melody. Why would she hit him?

Melody slapped him twice more. "You bastard!"

After hitting him, Melody shook her hand, her expression turning vacant. She wasn't sad over a scumbag; she was sad for herself.

A woman as good as her shouldn't waste tears on trash.

He was a piece of shit in her eyes. After hitting him, she felt like her hand was dirty.

Just then, a police officer addressed the crowd. "Who reported this?"

Before Yates could make sense of Nolan's words, a tearful cry rang out.

Everyone turned to see Jacqueline, trembling, rush forward to shield Yates.

She didn't know about the video broadcast. She assumed Nolan had been taken advantage of by Lynn and was now lashing out in a misplaced attempt at revenge.

She sobbed as she confronted him. "Nolan, my cousin didn't do anything to you! If you're upset, go after the person who hurt you! Why are you hitting him?"

She looked pitiful, a delicate flower radiating a vulnerability that begged for protection.

Nolan raised his fist, wanting nothing more than to hit her too.

He lowered it, a cryptic smile on his face as he stared at the despicable pair.

"Still acting? You've got some nerve, Yates. After catfishing me for five years, you push your own woman out to finish the job. You're truly shameless."

Jacqueline's eyes widened, her lips trembling. She was too stunned to speak. She thought back to what Melody had said about the "three-second man"...

It was over.

Nolan knew about her and Yates.
