Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 242

The next day, she tried to get out of bed, but every step felt like walking on knives.

The pain was indescribable. After just a couple of steps, her back was drenched in sweat.

The doctor had insisted that C-section patients had to get up and move around within 24 hours of surgery.

Being bedridden for too long slows blood flow and can lead to deep vein thrombosis in the legs. If a clot breaks off, it could cause a pulmonary embolism, which is life-threatening.

Walking helps promote circulation, reducing the risk of blood clots and speeding up her body’s recovery.

Thankfully, she felt a little better each day. Once she had her abdominal binder on, the incision wasn't as painful.

But it still hurt when she took it off to sleep, especially when she tried to turn over. The pain would double.

For the past few days, her three brothers had taken turns guarding the babies, and while they hadn't seen anyone suspicious, no one was letting their guard down.

Janina was discharged from the hospital after six days.

On the day of her discharge, they also received news from the police.

After investigating New Vista Medical Center, they had found nothing suspicious.

Regarding Janina's accusations against the doctor and nurse, the police had questioned both individuals.

The doctor, Jensen Parnell, had transferred from Mercy General Hospital to New Vista Medical Center three years ago.

Dr. Parnell was the head of obstetrics and had even saved a new mother from a postpartum embolism two years prior. He was a highly skilled physician, and many expectant mothers specifically requested him. He had an excellent reputation at the hospital.

The police concluded there was no evidence of criminal intent and labeled it a civil dispute involving an administrative error, which had led to Janina's misunderstanding of New Vista Medical Center.

Janina was stunned when she heard the results of the investigation. She didn't believe it.

The way Dr. Parnell and Nurse Dawson had behaved in that operating room was anything but benevolent.

Either the hospital was colluding with the police, or they had managed to cover the whole thing up perfectly.

Janina shared her thoughts with her brothers and her three best friends. They all agreed to continue investigating Dr. Parnell, Nurse Dawson, and Yvonne quietly.

After causing such a stir, her enemies would likely lay low for a while. That gave Janina some breathing room.
