Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 261

Janina stayed in the car, studying the woman carefully.

She wore a sexy slip dress. With red lips, flowing waves of hair, and high heels, her every move was a picture of elegance.

How could a woman like this be Jensen's mistress? She just couldn't understand it.

Jensen was in his forties, with a completely average height, build, and face. He was the type of man who would disappear in a crowd.

Why would anyone choose to be a mistress to someone like him?

Just as she was pondering this, Eileen's car pulled out of the underground garage.

On a whim, Janina followed her. She glanced at the time: 8:10 PM.

Eileen was probably on her way to the club for work.

But Janina felt a flicker of unease. Ever since the incident at New Vista Medical Center, she'd had the nagging feeling that someone was watching her.

She was about to call West when a video call from Maggie came through.

She answered, and Maggie's voice filled the car. "What are you up to? Come grab a late-night bite with us, Wendy's here too."

Janina kept her hands on the wheel, her eyes locked on Eileen's car. It looked like dinner was off the table tonight. "I'm tailing someone right now," she said. "Can't make it."

"Tailing who?" Maggie's tone sharpened, suddenly serious.

"Jensen's mistress, Eileen. Kenneth gave me a ton of files tonight. When I got back to the garage, I saw her leaving, so I started following."

They stopped at a red light, with one car between them and Eileen. Janina saw Eileen reach up and brush her hair back.

"Send us your location. We're on our way. You shouldn't be doing this alone. Besides, I found out some things about Jensen myself. That's why I wanted to meet up tonight," Maggie said, her words quickening.

The flashing red and green lights danced across her face. Janina had to admit, Eileen was stunning. There was something captivating, almost hypnotic, about her eyes.

Maggie took a small sip of her drink. "With her looks, why be a mistress? She could easily land a rich, handsome guy. She must be blind to have picked Jensen."

Wendy Clifford just smiled. "To each their own. Maybe she just has a thing for older men."

Janina didn't say anything, her gaze fixed on Eileen.

Her gut told her there was more to this woman than met the eye. She was definitely not as simple as she appeared.

Eileen stood in the center of the action, a dazzling presence, completely unfazed by the lustful stares of the men around her.

Eventually, she sat down next to a middle-aged man who wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Eileen whispered something in his ear, and he burst out laughing.

The man finished his drink, stood up, straightened his clothes, and led Eileen away from the table.
