Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 274

But the woman didn't accept the money, insisting it wasn't his fault. After that, they had no further contact.

Occasionally, in the dead of night, he would be consumed by guilt, feeling he had wronged Vivian. But then he would rationalize that it happened while he was drunk, that it wasn't his fault. Besides, it had only been that one time.

Slowly, time had eroded his guilt and unease. He never imagined the poison from that night would destroy Vivian and their child.

Bob conferred with his mother, and they finally decided to give up the baby.

"Dr. Parnell, we've made our decision. We're giving up the child. Please… handle the arrangements," Bob said, his voice hoarse, his eyes fixed on the floor.

Jensen gave Madonna a meaningful look. She promptly produced a form and handed it to Bob. "This is a waiver for treatment and authorization for disposal of the remains. You need to sign it."

Bob took the pen and signed his name without hesitation.

Kenneth ducked behind a fire hydrant, peering through a crack in the doorframe just in time to see Bob emerge, supporting his mother, both their faces etched with sorrow.

The old woman was sobbing. "This is a curse… How could you be so foolish? You've ruined our whole family."

Bob's throat tightened. Knowing he was at fault, he said nothing, letting his mother's rebukes wash over him. From a distance, Kenneth could hear Bob's choked voice. "Mom, don't tell Vivian about this yet. I'll be the one to tell her."

Vivian must never find out about the syphilis. If she did, she would surely divorce him.

The scarred man gave a sly grin. "You can talk money with him. I'm just here for the delivery."

Madonna handed the baby to him, then took out a small vial, rolling her eyes. "I knew you'd say that. Give her this when you get back. It'll bring the fever down."

"Yeah, got it." The scarred man scanned the area again, pulled his cap down lower, and placed the baby into a pre-prepared bag. Once she was inside, he lifted the bag. It looked like it was just full of clothes; no one would suspect it held an infant.

The entire transaction was captured by Janina's micro-camera. Kenneth continued to tail the scarred man.

Jensen and Madonna were just the suppliers. Where were these children finally being sold?
