Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 303

It was Julius Aurelius. Janina's smile hadn't yet faded; she was still basking in the joy of her recovery.

And Julius's eyes met hers at that very moment.

He saw her lips curved into a slight, happy smile as she chattered away on the phone.

Her eyes were round, dark, and sparkling, adding a touch of liveliness to her pale face.

The early morning sun streamed through the window, illuminating her features. She looked like an adorable little rabbit, making one want to reach out and touch her.

The old Janina had been this vibrant and beautiful, always smiling whenever she was with him.

When had that stopped?

It seemed that after Yvonne appeared, the smiles had vanished.

She became cold toward him, and every conversation they had devolved into an argument.

For nearly a year now, her expression had been nothing but sullen and icy.

Seeing that natural, lively look on her face again felt like stepping back in time.

The moment Janina saw Julius, her good mood evaporated.

She turned her head away, pointedly ignoring him.

Feeling the weight of his guilt, Julius walked toward her.

"Are you… are you okay? Why are you in the hospital? Are you feeling any better?" Julius's concerned words only made Janina's stomach turn. She didn't want to see him at all.

Was he here for Yvonne Moore?

Not wanting to disturb the other patients, Janina sat up and asked flatly, "What are you doing here?"

Her coldness was a sharp sting.

He couldn't tell if it was because she was unhappy about Yvonne or if the divorce had changed her this much.

He was losing face, and his handsome features darkened instantly.

"Hah. They're *my* children. If you want kids, go have them with your woman."

She remembered how every time something happened between her and Yvonne, Julius never believed her. Even with evidence right in front of him, he would convince himself to trust Yvonne.

Why should she forgive a jerk like that?

He was the one who hurt her first. Janina wasn't about to swallow her pride for the sake of some biological harmony.

She propped a pillow behind her back and watched as Julius seethed, his expression shifting through various shades of anger.

It put her in an excellent mood. She was discovering that driving someone else crazy felt much better than letting her own anger eat away at her.

Julius took a deep breath, softening his tone slightly.

"Janina, do we have to be like this? Can't we just part on good terms? Why does it always have to be so ugly?"
