Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 337

Two minutes.

Five minutes.

Ten minutes passed.

The phone screen remained dark, with no new notifications.

John ran his hands through his hair in frustration.

Assuming it was a bad signal, he looked around the room, his eyes landing on a chair in the corner.

He quickly dragged the chair to the center of the room, climbed on top of it, and held the phone up high, shifting his body to find a better angle.

It was common for the signal to be weak during a storm, and he hoped that was all it was.

As he stood on his toes, craning his neck to stare at the screen, the phone suddenly rang.

A jolt of excitement went through him.

It must be the signal. he thought.

Standing up high did the trick.

That has to be Silvia with the money! He glanced at the screen.

But when he saw it was just a spam call from his service provider, the smile on his face froze, instantly replaced by rage.

If a spam call could get through, there was nothing wrong with the signal.

That bitch Silvia hadn't sent the money!

The thought fueled his fury, and he irritably declined the call.

The second he did, a notification chimed.

A sliver of hope reignited within him.

He fumbled to open the message, thinking it had to be the transfer confirmation from Silvia.

But when he saw it was just a text from his provider about changing his data plan, he froze solid.

Unable to contain his rage any longer, he kicked the door open and stormed into the adjacent room where Janina was being held.

"So, should I make your death quick and painless, or should I chop you up and scatter the pieces? Maybe I should leave a little something behind for them, just so they know I'm not someone to be trifled with?" John snarled, each word laced with a chilling coldness.

The thought of being dismembered by these two demons, with not even a bone left behind, was too much.

She could no longer suppress her fear and began to sob uncontrollably.

The two men, busy with their preparations, were startled by the sudden crying. John roared in frustration,

"Shut up! What are you crying for? You cry again and I'll start chopping right now!"

"I'll cry if I want to! I'm about to die anyway, what do I have to be afraid of? Nothing! When I see the Devil, I'll tell him all about your sins, and he'll send his reapers for you and drag you down to the deepest pit of Hell!"

Janina's voice was practically a scream, filled with rage and despair.

The effects of the drug had worn off, and some strength had returned to her body.

Maybe screaming would lessen the fear, even just a little.

John advanced on her, step by step.

He was wearing a patterned T-shirt, black shorts, and a pair of flip-flops.

His face was greasy and flushed with an unhealthy red glow, his steps unsteady.
