Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 343

The wind was dying down. The rain finally stopped.

Janina and Able Tam walked for two hours before they managed to flag down a semi-truck on the road.

They borrowed the driver’s phone and called the police.

Half an hour later, the officers arrived.

Following the route Janina provided, they rushed toward the prefabricated shack.

She and Able Tam were taken to the police station to wait for news.

But when the police arrived at the shack, what they found inside was beyond shocking.

The room was thick with the smell of blood. When they saw the contents of the grinder, even the seasoned officers couldn’t stop themselves from vomiting. They were professionals, but they were horrified by the brutal scene.

The grinder… was full of human tissue.

The area was quickly cordoned off. The medical examiner was called in.

In the adjacent room, officers found Janina’s suitcase and handbag, but there were no other useful clues. The place had clearly been wiped clean.

Meanwhile, Janina and Able Tam were at the police station giving their statements. When she heard from the officers about the gruesome scene back at the shack, she couldn’t stop trembling.

Janina told the police that the person behind everything was Yvonne Moore. The officers assured her they would investigate thoroughly and bring the culprit to justice.

When she got her handbag back from the evidence department, her phone was flooded with missed calls and unread messages—hundreds of them.

In the family group chat, there were countless voice messages from Grace.

[Nina, where on earth are you? Mom is begging you, please just send a message…]

What she didn’t know was that it wasn’t just West and Natalie on a plane—her three best friends were, too.

They had all been frantic when they couldn’t reach her last night. Because of the typhoon in Seacrest, all transportation had been shut down. They had no choice but to report her missing and book the earliest flight they could for the next morning.

Since she was already at the police station, Janina figured she might as well wait for them there.

She turned to Able Tam, who had been sitting quietly beside her. “Why are you in Seacrest? Do you live here?”

Now that things had settled down, Janina’s curiosity got the better of her. She had first met him in Clayborne City and assumed he was from there. Seeing him in Seacrest, she now assumed he lived here.

Able Tam shook his head with a smile. “I walked from Clayborne City to Seacrest. I’m a beggar, you know. Home is wherever I end up.”

He said it so lightly, but Janina felt a pang of sadness for him. No one would choose to be a beggar if they had a choice. If Able Tam knew what she was thinking, he would probably disagree.

“How did you find me? With the storm last night, where did you take shelter?”
