"Janina! Yvonne lost the baby! Are you happy now? This is attempted murder!"
Before Janina could even recover from the slap, Julius grabbed her by her clothes and started dragging her out the door.
"I didn't do it! She cut herself and fell down the stairs on her own! Let go of me!" Janina yelled, struggling against his grip, batting at his hands.
But the difference in their strength was too great. Julius hauled her outside and toward the elevator.
He was deaf to any explanation right now; to him, her words were just excuses.
Janina finally stopped fighting. "Let go," she said calmly. "I'll go with you."
Seeing her compliance, Julius released his grip.
At the hospital, Julius shoved her into the room. She stumbled, nearly falling to the floor.
"Janina, get on your knees and apologize to Yvonne. And you'll stay there until she forgives you. If she doesn't, I'm calling the police and reporting you for murder," Julius snarled before she could even protest.
Yvonne, lying in bed, cried out his name, "Julius!" as if he were her savior. The moment she saw him, her eyes filled with tears. "It hurts so much!"
Consumed by rage, Julius immediately went to her bedside. He leaned over, his furious expression melting into one of gentle concern as he took her hand.
"Don't be afraid, Yvonne. I've brought the person who hurt you. You can do whatever you want to her."
Janina stared in disbelief. She was the one who had been framed, and yet here they were, accusing her of murder before she could even say a word.
Janina looked at the man who had already condemned her without a trial. For more than ten years, she had failed to see him clearly, but in the space of a month, the veil had been lifted.
In the past, being wrongly accused by him would have shattered her. She would have been terrified of him misunderstanding her, of him hating her even more. She would have frantically tried to defend herself.
But what was the use? His heart had always been biased. Nothing she said would matter. She was just Yvonne's replacement. All it took was one tearful look from Yvonne, and he would lay all the blame at her feet.
Janina met his furious gaze and said calmly, "I sent you a video. It proves I didn't push her. This was all staged by Yvonne."
Yvonne, who had been waiting for Julius to punish Janina, froze. A video? Her mind raced. There were no cameras upstairs, and she hadn't seen Janina filming with her phone. She must be bluffing to get out of trouble. Even if she had a video, it was probably fake.
Julius didn't believe her either. He didn't even bother to look at his phone. He thought she was lying.
