"What do you mean you accidentally slept with a much younger guy? Spill the details, what happened?" The three of them were suddenly consumed with curiosity.
They never expected Maggie, who had always been single and uninterested in marriage, to drop such a bombshell.
They were dying to know more.
Maggie was a powerhouse. She had been a top student in school and was now a formidable force at her company.
Her colleagues had given her a nickname, a term of respect for her sheer competence, not an insult.
Maggie was incredibly capable, outperforming even the men in the company.
Projects others couldn't land, she secured. Contracts others couldn't sign, she closed.
So, her colleagues had dubbed her 'The Terminator.'
When she was on a case, she left no survivors.
Now, Janina, Melody, and Wendy were intensely curious about what kind of man could possibly catch Maggie's eye.
As three pairs of gossip-hungry eyes fixed on her, Maggie sighed and threw up her hands in surrender.
"Last month, I had dinner with a client and signed a huge deal. I was so happy that I went to a bar to let loose. I had a bit too much to drink, and then I picked up a younger guy and took him to a hotel. And then... what was bound to happen, happened."
Ah!!!
The three of them exchanged looks of disbelief.
Just like that... they slept together?
"What about the process? The details?" Melody pressed.
Janina and Wendy also leaned in closer, not wanting to miss any of the juicy gossip.
"Details, my foot! Do I really need to describe that kind of thing?" Maggie flicked Melody's forehead.
"Fine, but I wanted to hear the juicy parts."
Melody dropped the playful tone and asked seriously, "How old is he? Have you made it official?"
"No way. He's young. Twenty-one, just started working this year. He's almost seven years younger than me. I'm not interested."
Maggie wasn't too worried about any health issues. All new employees at her company had to undergo a physical examination.
Although she hadn't seen his medical report herself, the fact that he was hired meant he didn't have any contagious diseases.
While society was becoming more accepting of conditions like AIDS or hepatitis, her company wouldn't hire someone with such illnesses.
Afterward, she had also taken precautions, so there shouldn't be any problems.
Even though she initiated it, they both enjoyed themselves.
No one lost out. No one owed anyone anything.
She hadn't given it a second thought.
"Ah! So you're keeping it all in the family! What was his attitude? Did he just hit it and quit it, or...?" Melody asked in a lighthearted tone.
"It was his lucky day. He should be thrilled he got to sleep with me. As for his attitude? He insisted on 'taking responsibility' for me, ha."
Maggie let out a self-deprecating laugh, the disdainful snort making her sound more like the man in the situation.
