Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 448

She knew it was probably because of the video. Ignoring the stares, she walked straight to her desk.

Just as she sat down, a colleague from the secretarial pool rushed over, pointing at her phone.

“Ms. Clifford, you should see this. Your parents are live right now. I shared the link with you.”

The colleague’s eyes were full of pity. After speaking, she returned to her desk, put on her wireless earbuds, and started watching the stream.

Although she didn't want to hear any more of their poison, Wendy picked up her phone and joined the livestream.

It was a stream from an influencer with over a million followers who specialized in 'family reunions.' She had seen his videos before; he'd started out helping homeless people find their families.

As his popularity grew, his channel had taken off. So, when the stream went live, viewers flooded in.

Combined with the viral video of Mrs. Clifford denouncing her daughter from the day before, the number of viewers in the livestream was skyrocketing.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford sat on a worn-out bench in their dilapidated house. The place looked desperately poor, without a single decent piece of furniture.

With haggard, tear-streaked faces, they faced the camera.

To the viewers, they looked like they had suffered immense psychological and emotional trauma.

But Wendy knew it was all an act. Their haggard expressions were for Baron's debt, not for her.

Mrs. Clifford's bloodshot, cloudy eyes concealed the cunning and calculation beneath.

On camera, she wept as she described how she'd sacrificed everything, working her fingers to the bone to raise her daughter, and the hardships they'd endured to see her through university.

She even concocted a lie about selling her own blood to pay for Wendy's university expenses!

“The new year is just a few days away, but this poor couple doesn't even have a proper place to rest. Look at this house—it’s practically condemned. When it rains, the roof leaks. It’s completely unlivable.”

At this point, the influencer panned the camera around the room.

The sight of the squalor was too much for many viewers.

The chat started scrolling wildly again.

Many commenters said they had never seen a place so poor.

“To save money, the auntie and uncle eat only two small bowls of thin soup and a single piece of bread a day, with a few pickles on occasion. They can't afford meat. But their daughter lives in a house worth a fortune! My friends, is that fair to them?”

The influencer began a tirade against Wendy Clifford.
