Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 455

Wendy had anticipated the suspension.

She handed over her work ID but took nothing else, not even the teacup on her desk, which she left in its place.

She wanted to send a message to everyone: Wendy will be back.

After leaving the office, she called Finch.

No answer.

She then sent him a text message, telling him she had been suspended.

Next, she headed to the bank to print out her transaction history. She had sent a significant amount of money home over the years, and she planned to expose her parents' lies, one by one.

She requested a car through a ride-sharing app to get to a nearby bank.

Fortunately, things went smoothly. With the transaction history in hand, she prepared to find a lawyer.

Just then, the sky suddenly opened up and it began to rain.

Wendy glanced up at the dark, oppressive clouds. It looked like the downpour wouldn't stop anytime soon.

She didn't have an umbrella, but she had to get this handled today.

Wendy stood under the awning at the bank's entrance, opening the ride-sharing app again. For a long while, no one accepted her request.

Perhaps because of the heavy rain, it was difficult to get a car in this area.

She looked out at the street, where cars passed intermittently, but not a single one was a taxi.

She refused to give up and kept trying the app, her fingers mechanically repeating the action.

Ten minutes passed, and still no one had accepted her ride request.

She checked the time and was about to message The Graces' Chat to see if one of her friends could pick her up.

Just as she opened the group chat, an umbrella suddenly appeared over her head.

Once they were in the car, West turned on the heat. The warmth gradually relaxed Wendy's slightly stiff body.

As he fastened his seatbelt, he asked, "Where to?"

Thinking of what she needed to do next, Wendy's expression immediately turned serious. "To a law firm. I need to consult with a lawyer about something."

"Alright," he replied in a low voice.

The car drove to the nearest law firm, but unfortunately, it was already closed. They found another, but only a junior assistant was there; the lawyers were out with no known return time.

They spent nearly two hours driving back and forth, and the rain showed no sign of stopping.

Wendy felt bad for troubling West any further and said apologetically, "Let's just forget it. You can drop me off at a subway station. I'll go home for now."

West didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked, "Are you looking for a lawyer because of the video online?"

Wendy glanced at her phone, checked the time, and muttered in confusion.
