The next morning, when Janina and Wendy woke up, they had absolutely no memory of their drunken escapades.

They slept in until after nine. Thankfully, it was the weekend, so they weren't late for work.

Everyone else had already eaten breakfast.

West and Natalie had gone to work, leaving only Ethan and Grace at home looking after the children.

After freshening up, Janina and Wendy sat down at the dining table for breakfast.

Janina pulled out her phone, played a video, and placed it in front of Wendy. "Natalie filmed this last night. Said we were singing and dancing like lunatics."

Wendy leaned in to watch. When the video ended, she froze, then rubbed her head in embarrassment.

"Oh my god, is that really us? I... How did I end up like that? That's mortifying!"

She had even been clinging to West.

God, how embarrassing.

Did she do anything else over the top last night?

Wendy racked her brain, but couldn't recall anything.

She remembered being rowdy in the car, but under the influence of alcohol, she had no control over her actions. It seemed like she fell asleep shortly after. When she woke up, she was in her bed.

Surely she hadn't caused any more trouble after that.

Wendy thought hard, but she truly couldn't remember doing anything else out of line.

She tapped her still-fuzzy head and asked, "Nina, do you remember anything that happened after we got drunk last night?"

Her parents were getting older, and with two toddlers to look after, their energy and stamina were beginning to wane.

Janina had actually wanted to hire help right after the children were born, but Grace had refused, insisting they could manage and didn't need to spend the extra money.

This time, Janina hired the housekeeper before telling her parents. They didn't object, which suggested they were privately relieved to have the help. The children were growing and at the mischievous, energetic stage that required constant attention. With a housekeeper to take care of the chores, her parents' load would be lightened considerably.

The housekeeper, Land, was a capable woman. Though middle-aged, she had a warm vitality and a pleasant, full figure, with a constant smile on her face.

She was quick, meticulous in her work, and her cheerful chatter charmed everyone in the house.

Grace seemed to have found a kindred spirit and loved chatting with Land in her free time.

Every day when Janina came home from work, she would see Land bustling about.

After finishing her chores, she would even help with the children. The whole family felt incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful helper.
