Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 546

A wave of delayed fear washed over Janina. What kind of poison could be this potent?

She took a deep breath, her voice choked with emotion. “Okay, we’ll go to the countryside. Thank you, Fairchild.”

Seeing Janina’s eyes turn red as tears streamed down her face, Fairchild’s lip curled in distaste.

“No one’s dead yet, so what’s with the waterworks? Hurry up and bring them here for treatment. My skills aren’t for strangers to see, you know!”

Janina’s tears froze in her eyes. She wiped her eyelids, finally understanding what Fairchild meant.

The “stranger” he was referring to was Land.

From the moment Fairchild had laid eyes on Land, his gaze had been cold.

So he was wary of her.

With no time for questions, Janina rushed downstairs to get Liam and Joy.

It was truly remarkable. Earlier today, she had felt weak and drained, as if her feet weren't firmly on the ground. But after Fairchild's brief treatment, the exhaustion had lessened considerably, and her steps felt steady again.

She had to admit, Fairchild’s medical abilities were astonishing.

She had no idea who he was or where he came from, but his skills were almost supernatural. It all felt so unreal.

But regardless of his origins, Janina knew one thing for sure: he was the Holt family's savior. To her, Fairchild was like an angel sent from heaven.

When she got downstairs, she saw her parents hunched over the babies’ cribs, gazing at the sleeping Liam and Joy.

The children were in a deep sleep. Aside from waking for a short while that morning, they had been unconscious all day.

Janina and Grace gently laid the children on the bed. Fairchild, fiddling with a set of silver needles in one hand, waved them out with the other, signaling that he didn't want to be disturbed. He hated it when people were chattering in the background while he worked.

Easton knew this all too well; Fairchild was liable to throw something at you if you annoyed him.

The three of them quietly left the room. Janina pulled her parents into her own bedroom and told them what Fairchild had said about the poisoning.

Ethan and Grace’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Grace grabbed Janina’s hand. “You were poisoned too? How are you now? How could this happen…?”

Grace’s hands trembled, her face deathly pale. She and Ethan had been the ones looking after the children. If anything happened to them, she felt that even death wouldn't be enough to atone for it.
