Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 74

But in her story, she got a dirt-poor family, a mother in a wheelchair, a blind father, four older brothers who were getting on in years, a younger sister, and an even younger brother still in school.

She must have been a truly terrible person in a past life for fate to hand her such a bizarre existence.

She'd spent her first fourteen years suffering in the countryside, returned to the Gable family only to suffer more, and then married Julius, who broke her heart.

Just when she had divorced and was ready to conquer the world, fate threw her this massive curveball.

It seemed there was no end in sight to her miserable life!

Janina slowly began to process this new reality.

After all, she hadn't grown up with them.

Truth be told, they were just relatives by blood—complete strangers.

She decided to wait and see.

Just as Easton was about to take Janina upstairs to see her room, a low voice came from a small, half-open door. "Eldest, has Brooke left?"

Easton glanced at his mother. Grace sighed sadly, but ultimately decided to let Easton lead Janina into the room.

Grace pushed open the door from her wheelchair and spoke to the man sitting inside. "Brooke just left with her birth parents."

The man was Janina's biological father, Ethan.

He felt deep shame regarding this daughter. Though her character was a bit flawed, they had raised her. He was sad to see her go.

"Nina, you… you're back… Dear, you… you're home. Good, that's so good…"

Ethan wanted to express how much he had missed her.

But the thought of his daughter falling from a life of luxury to that of a commoner made the words catch in his throat.

They had failed their daughter.

"Dad—" Janina murmured softly. Unable to bear watching him struggle with his trembling hand any longer, she stepped forward, took it gently, and helped him settle back into his seat.

Ethan gripped his daughter's hand tightly, overwhelmed with emotion. Nina wasn't repulsed by him, unlike Brooke, who had avoided him ever since he lost his sight.

"Nina, Mom and Dad are useless. We couldn't give you a good life. But don't worry, we won't ask you to take care of us. We… we can manage on our own. Don't feel burdened…"
