Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia) novel Chapter 414

Author’s pov

The next morning was bright and clear in Colorado Springs.

Alpha Sebastian and Cecilia got up early and reached the Locke family house by seven.

Martha Locke, the family elder, was already awake.

When Alpha Sebastian and Cecilia walked into the dining room, they found Martha and Zane already sitting at the table.

The air between mother and son felt ice cold. They clearly hadn’t spoken a word to each other.

The table was full of breakfast food. Fresh bread, fruit, and hot dishes filled the room with good smells.

Martha’s whole face lit up when she saw them. “Cece, Sebastian, you’re here!” Her voice was warm and happy, completely different from the frozen silence before.

“Good morning, Grandmother,” Cecilia said politely.

“Good morning, Grandmother,” Alpha Sebastian said beside her.

His voice sounded even more natural and loving than Cecilia’s.

Martha practically glowed with happiness.

She looked at the beautiful pair in front of her. They looked like they belonged in a magazine, perfectly matched.

“Please sit down, dears,” she said, pointing to empty chairs.

“Yes, please join us,” Zane added quickly.

His eyes showed no elder authority, just desperate hope that they might call him family too.

Cecilia gave him a polite smile.

The disappointment on Zane’s face was obvious.

Alpha Sebastian pulled out Cecilia’s chair like a perfect gentleman. He waited for her to sit before taking his own seat.

Once they were both seated, he placed a napkin on her lap and gently moved her hair back from her shoulders.

Martha and Zane watched these sweet gestures with clear approval.

This was how a real mate should act.

As they began eating, Martha put a clear vegetable roll on Cecilia’s plate. “Try this one, dear. It tastes clean and fresh.”

Cecilia smiled and took a bite. “Oh! This is really good.”

“I knew you’d love it,” Martha beamed. “Everyone should try some.”

The four of them ate together, and surprisingly, it felt natural and pleasant.

Then they heard footsteps from the hallway.

Multiple people were coming.

Among the sounds, sharp high heels clicked against the marble floor like tiny hammers.

Martha’s smile died instantly.

Four people entered the dining room at once.

Maggie walked in front, pulling a confused looking Xenia by the hand. Alpha Xavier and Alpha Gavin followed behind them.

Zane’s face changed. He stood up, clearly planning to stop them, but Maggie was faster.

“Xenia, say good morning to your grandmother,” she told her daughter with fake sweetness.

“Good… morning, Grandmother,” the child said quietly. But when she saw Martha’s cold face, she quickly hid behind her mother’s legs.

Maggie put a gentle hand on his arm. “I understand your worries, but I think Alpha Xavier would be good for Xenia. What happened before should stay in the past. Everyone makes mistakes, right? We can’t reject someone completely because of one error.”

Zane didn’t know what to say.

Martha made a disgusted sound but stayed quiet.

Seeing that Zane was getting weaker, Maggie kept going. “Alpha Xavier came with Gavin this morning. Gavin is Xenia’s cousin, and even he has no problems with this. As elders, shouldn’t we be more open minded?”

Cecilia was shocked by Maggie’s nerve. The woman’s tricks were so obvious it was almost funny.

“My problem isn’t with Alpha Xavier,” Zane finally said. “It’s that matters of the heart can’t be decided by us. Have you asked Xenia? Have you asked Alpha Xavier?”

Maggie’s face became deliberately worried. “Are you sure you want to ask our daughter what she wants?”

She poured Zane a glass of juice and put it carefully by his hand. “You know, it’s all about timing and luck. When I was in Denver, I heard that Luna Dora was looking for a daughter in law. After talking with her, we got along immediately. As for Alpha Xavier himself…”

Her eyes looked up, staring at Alpha Xavier with a sweet but poisonous look. “His being here today shows he’s willing to get to know Xenia better, doesn’t it?”

Alpha Xavier’s hands turned into fists under the table.

After a long moment, he managed to say: “Yes.”

“You see?” Maggie said happily. “He’s willing.”

“Then let them spend time together,” Zane agreed, looking directly at Xavier. “But if it doesn’t work out, no one can force it.”

Sebastian’s eyebrows went up slightly. He looked amused. The phrase “no forcing” was particularly interesting here.

Martha slammed her spoon down. “A perfectly good breakfast ruined by all this talk. I’ve completely lost my appetite. Cece, Sebastian, come walk with me in the garden.”

Alpha Sebastian and Cecilia immediately put down their forks. They stood up together, ready to follow Martha out.

“Pretty brother is leaving…” Xenia cried softly, half standing from her seat. Her small hands pressed against the table edge.
