Author’s pov
As the yacht continued to sink, water pooling around their ankles, Cecilia felt consciousness slipping away.
Her vision blurred, the shouting voices around her becoming distant echoes.
Alpha Sebastian’s powerful growl was the last thing she heard before darkness claimed her.
But this wasn’t ordinary darkness.
Cecilia found herself floating in a strange realm of silver light.
The pain in her abdomen had disappeared, replaced by an otherworldly calm.
Before her stood a woman of impossible beauty – her skin luminous like moonlight, hair flowing like liquid silver, eyes containing the wisdom of centuries.
“Luna Goddess,” Cecilia whispered, instinctively knowing who stood before her.
The Moon Goddess smiled, her presence radiating ancient power that felt both terrifying and comforting.
“Cecilia Moore,” her voice echoed like crystal bells in still water. “Brave human who carries the future of my children.”
Cecilia’s hand moved protectively to her stomach. “My baby…”
“The child within you is special, chosen by me,” the Goddess explained, her form shimmering like moonbeams on water. “Not merely for being the offspring of a powerful Alpha, but because this soul will bridge worlds – human and wolf – in ways not seen for generations.”
The Goddess reached forward, placing her palm over Cecilia’s abdomen. Warmth spread through her entire body.
“The witch seeks power she cannot comprehend. Your mate fights with all his strength, but even an Alpha as powerful as Sebastian cannot defeat centuries of accumulated dark magic alone.”
“What can I do?” Cecilia asked desperately.
“You already possess everything needed,” the Goddess replied, her tone shifting to something fiercer, more commanding.
“Do you think I chose you by accident? Human women who catch the heart of an Alpha like Sebastian are rare. But human women who can stand as his equal? Rarer still.”
The Moon Goddess’s eyes blazed with silver fire. “Your strength doesn’t come from magic or bloodlines alone. It comes from your refusal to be anyone’s victim. Use that now.”
“But humans don’t have mind-links,” Cecilia protested.
The Moon Goddess’s laugh was like silver chimes mixed with the howl of a wolf. “Child, you’ve been mind-linking with your mate for months without realizing it. How do you think you always know when he’s in danger? How do you think he finds you so easily?”
Her voice grew stronger, more urgent. “The connection runs deeper than blood or species. You carry my blessing now,and you carry the will to protect what’s yours.”
The Moon Goddess began fading, her form dissolving into moonlight particles. “Remember, the strongest magic isn’t ritual or sacrifice. It’s the fury of a mother protecting her child and a mate defending her family. Channel that rage, Cecilia. Make them fear you.”
“Wait!” Cecilia called out. “I don’t know how—”
“You don’t need instructions,” the Goddess’s voice echoed as she disappeared. “You need permission. I’m giving it to you. Now wake up and show them what happens when they threaten a Luna.”
But the Goddess was gone, and awareness rushed back like a tidal wave.
—
Cecilia gasped, her eyes flying open to chaos.
Alpha Sebastian, still in his massive wolf form despite his injuries, stood between her and Belinda.
“Little human,” Belinda sneered at her through Xenia’s hijacked face, “dying won’t save your child from me!”
But Cecilia wasn’t that scared girl who’d first stumbled into the werewolf world anymore.
This witch had picked the wrong woman to mess with.
Something felt different inside Cecilia.
The frantic kicking of her child had stopped, replaced by a strange calmness. Following instinct, she closed her eyes and reached inward with her mind.
[Little one, can you hear me?]
The response wasn’t words but a feeling – warmth, trust, and something more. Power. Pure, untainted power.
Alpha Sebastian’s golden eyes locked with hers across the tilting deck, their mate bond suddenly humming with newfound strength.
She could feel him, not just emotionally but mentally.
[Cece? ]His mental voice, filled with shock and wonder.
[Sebastian, our baby… I can feel our baby.]
Cecilia pushed herself to her feet, ignoring the water swirling around her ankles.
“You want my child?” she said, her voice carrying across the chaos with supernatural clarity. “Come and take her.”
A radiant light began emanating from Cecilia’s skin, starting from her heart and spreading outward. It wasn’t just light – it was power in its purest form, untainted by greed or ambition.
Belinda screamed, raising her hands to shield her eyes. “Impossible! A human cannot channel Luna’s power!”
“I’m not just any human,” Cecilia declared, stepping forward as the light around her intensified. “I’m a Luna. I’m a mother. And I’m done being afraid of you.”
The witch’s expression contorted with rage as she abandoned all pretense of subtlety. Black tendrils of magic shot directly toward Cecilia’s womb.
“If I can’t have the vessel, I’ll take the power itself!” she shrieked.
