Naomi’s pov:

I couldn’t take it anymore. The walls of that sprawling mansion felt like they were closing in on me, suffocating me with every breath.

Elias’s presence lingered everywherethe sharp, commanding scent of him on the furniture, the echoes of his mocking voice in my ears from that horrific night in heat. I’d signed that damned contract in a haze of desperation and pain, agreeing to be hiswhatever he wanted.

Sex slave, prisoner, it all blurred together. But now, with the heat subsided and my body somewhat my own again, frustration boiled over. I just wanted out. To leave this gilded cage and never look back. Money was my ticket to freedom; without it, I was trapped.

He’d warned me not to step foot outside without permission. You’re mine now, Naomi,he’d growled that morning over breakfast, his cold gray eyes pinning me in place like a butterfly on a board. Disobey, and you’ll regret it.”

But regret? I was already drowning in it. What more could he do? So, when he left for. whatever alpha business he hadprobably scheming against his enemies or whatever paranoia fueled himI slipped out the back door, heart pounding. The beta maid, Lena, shot me a worried glance but said nothing.

Good. I didn’t need her pity.

The city streets were a blur as I hurried to the café where Mira had agreed to meet me. I burst through the door, spotting her at a corner table, her kind brown eyes widening at my disheveled statehair messy from the wind, clothes rumpled from days of confinement.

Naomi! Gods, you look like hell. What’s going on?Mira stood, pulling me into a hug. Her scent was soft, comforting, like lavender fieldsnothing like the overwhelming storm of Elias.

I collapsed into the seat opposite her, tears pricking my eyes. Mira, I need help. A job, Anything. I have to get away from him. Please, beg if I have to, find me something.”

She frowned. Him?

He’s my mate,” I nodded.

What did he do?

Everything,I whispered, my voice cracking. The memories flooded backthe ropes, the mocking laughter, the way he’d torn my clothes and bathed me like a possession, only to use me roughly afterward. He’s cruel. I signed a contract in heat, but I can’t stay. I need money to run.”

Mira’s expression softened with sympathy, but there was a pragmatic edge to it. She knew the omega life all too well. Okay, calm down. I might have something. There’s this highend club downtownThe Velvet Den. It’s an entertainment spot, classy, not sleazy. They need girls to sell drinks, mingle with patrons. Pays welltips from wealthy alphas can set you up for months.

I hesitated, picturing it. Serving drinks in a skimpy outfit, smiling at alphas who leered with that predatory gleam. My appearance had always been a doubleedged sword- long auburn hair, curves that drew eyes, the subtle omega allure that made scents flare. It would secure me the job, no doubt. But Eliaswhat would he think? Would he see me as even more of a traitor, a cheater flaunting myself? Or would he mock me for stooping so low?

Naomi?Mira prompted.

I shook my head, steeling myself. Money was what I needed most now. Freedom over pride. Fine. Introduce me. When can I start?

Mira grinned, pulling out her phone. The manager’s a friend. Let me text her. We can head over now if you’re up for it.”

We finished our coffees and walked the few blocks to The Velvet Den. The exterior was

sleek, all black marble and neon accents, screaming exclusivity. Inside, it was dimly lit with plush booths, a stage for live music, and a bar stocked with topshelf liquors. The air hummed with alpha pheromonesdominant, enticingmixed with the softer notes of betas and omegas working the floor. My stomach twisted; this place catered to the elite, the kind of alphas who could buy whatever they wanted, including company.

Mira led me to the back office, where a sharpdressed beta woman named Sofia eyed me up and down. Mira’s friend, huh? Turn around, sweetie.

I did, feeling like merchandise. Her nod was approving. You’ve got the lookinnocent yet alluring. Omegas like you draw in the big spenders. Alphas love the chase. Job’s

I swallowed hard, thinking of Elias’s cold grip on my neck, his accusations of betrayal. Working here would confirm every nasty thing he thought about me. But screw him. I’ll take it. Thank you.

Sofia smirked. Good girl. See you tomorrow.

We stepped outside, the afternoon sun blinding after the club’s gloom. Mira squeezed my arm. See? Easy. You’ll be out from under that alpha’s thumb in no time.

I forced a smile. Yeah. Thanks, Mira. I—

A screech of tires cut me off. A sleek black carElias’s car, I’d recognize that tinted monstrosity anywherepulled up to the curb, startling us both. My heart dropped to my stomach. How? The door opened, and Adrian stepped out. Elias’s beta assistant, tall and efficient, with a nononsense expression. His eyes locked on me, impassive.

Miss Naomi,he said flatly, no room for argument. Time to go home.”

Home? That mansion was a prison. I glanced at Mira, who looked ready to bolt. How did you find me?I blurted, panic rising.

Did Elias know? Was he tracking me somehow? A scent trail? A device? God, he was paranoid enough for that.

Adrian didn’t blink. Master Elias has his ways. Get in the car, please.”

I wanted to refuse, to scream, but the street was busy, and causing a scene would only make things worse. Mira shot me a worried look. Naomi? You okay?

I’ll be fine,I lied, hugging her quickly. Goodbye, Mira. Thanks for everything.

She nodded uncertainly as I slid into the back seat. Adrian got in the front, the driver peeling away without a word. The ride was silent, tension thick as fog. My mind raced -Elias must know. He’d warned me, and I’d defied him. What punishment awaits now? More ropes? More mockery?

We pulled up to the mansion, its towering facade mocking my escape attempt. Adrian escorted me inside, his hand firm on my elbow.

Straight to the house,he muttered.

The beta maid, Lena, met me at the door, her face pale. She was older, with a kind but weary demeanor, always smelling faintly of herbs from the kitchen.
