52 Chapter 52 Let’s settle it

Naomi’s pov: 1

I woke up tangled in Elias’s sheets, my body aching in the most delicious, sinful ways from last night. The memories flooded back in a rush, his hands pinning me, his mouth devouring every inch of me, the mirror forcing me to watch my own surrender.

Heat bloomed in my cheeks just thinking about it, my skin still tingling from his bites and pinches, marks hidden under my loose blouse and jeans. The bond hummed contentedly between us, a warm undercurrent that made my heart flutter despite the lingering guilt over our twisted history.

I slipped out of his room before dawn, sneaking back to mine like a thief, but the soreness between my thighs was a constant reminder.

Gods, what was I becoming? Shy and flustered, I avoided mirrors as I dressed, not wanting to see the evidence of my submission.

Downstairs in the breakfast nook, the scent of fresh coffee and bacon wrapped around me like a comforting blanket, but it did little to ease my nerves. Lucy was already there, perched on a stool with a plate of eggs, her bubbly energy intact despite yesterday’s drama.

Elias sat at the head of the table, looking annoyingly composed in a fitted shirt that hugged his broad shoulders, sipping his coffee with that casual alpha grace. Our eyes met briefly as I entered, and a knowing spark passed through the bond, making my stomach flip.

I busied myself pouring a cup of tea, my hands trembling slightly, praying no one noticed the faint bruises peeking above my collar or the way my scent might betray last night’s passion.

Morning, Naomi!Lucy chirped, waving her fork. Hey, where were you last night? I knocked on your room around midnight, needed to vent about Grandpa’s latest lecture, but it was empty. I checked twice!

My face ignited like a bonfire, a furious blush spreading from my cheeks down my

neck.

Oh gods, she’d checked? I froze, tea sloshing in my cup as I set it down too hard. My mind raced for an excuse, but all I could think about was Elias’s body over mine, his

dirty whispers echoing in my ears.

Shyness washed over me in waves. My omega instincts urged me to lower my gaze, but I forced a mumble.

Iuh, must have been in the bathroom. Yeah, probably that. Sorry, I didn’t hear you.” My scent spiked with nervousness, a floral edge turning sharp and anxious, betraying me completely. I fidgeted with my napkin, twisting it in my lap, avoiding everyone’s

eyes.

Lucy tilted her head, her innocent blue eyes wide and guileless. The bathroom? For that long? Hmm, okay. You sure you’re alright? You seem kinda flushed. Maybe you’re coming down with something?

I nodded quickly, too quickly, my blush deepening to a mortifying crimson. Yyeah, totally fine. Justdidn’t sleep great.”

Liar, my mind whispered; I’d slept like the dead after he’d exhausted me. Across the table, Elias set his coffee down with a soft clink, his golden eyes locking onto mine. A smirk tugged at his lips, playful and teasing, like he knew every filthy detail racing through my head. The bond sparked with his amusement, sending a shiver down my spine.

Naomi’s right,he said smoothly, his voice a low rumble that made my toes curl. Bathrooms can betimeconsuming.

His foot brushed mine under the table then, a deliberate graze along my ankle that sent electric sparks shooting up my leg, straight to my core. I squirmed in my seat, crossing my legs to hide the sudden warmth blooming there, my shyness turning the sensation into something almost overwhelming.

How could a simple touch feel so intimate, so charged? I glared at him subtly, but he just raised his mug in a mock toast, that smirk widening, his eyes dancing with mischief.

Lucy laughed, oblivious, popping a piece of bacon into her mouth. Weird, but okay! Anyway, thanks again for yesterday, Naomi. You’re like the sister I never had.

She beamed, and I managed a shy smile back, my heart warming despite the awkwardness.

Elias’s pov:

I stepped out onto the mansion’s balcony, the morning sun warming my skin as I pulled out my phone, the weight of last night’s revelations, and passions, still lingering like a haze.

Naomi’s scent clung to me, floral and sweet, mixed with the faint tang of our shared heat, stirring the bond in my chest. But breakfast had lightened things, her blush under my teasing foot a playful reminder of our growing closeness.

Yet pack duties called, Lucy’s botched engagement which I needed to smooth it over with Ronan. As alpha heir, alliances mattered, even if Grandpa’s meddling had blown

  1. up.

I dialed Ronan’s number, leaning against the railing. The phone rang twice before his deep voice answered, steady and alphastrong. Elias. Didn’t expect your call so soon. What’s up?

Hey, Ronan,I said, keeping my tone neutral but edged with the apology I owed. Are you free today? I thought we could talk and clear the air after yesterday’s mess.

A pause, then a low chuckle. Free as a rogue. What’s on your mind? You soundapologetic. Don’t tell me the mighty Kingsley alpha is going soft.”

I grimaced, running a hand through my hair. He wasn’t wrong; guilt gnawed at me for dragging him into Grandpa’s scheme without considering Lucy’s feelings.

Look, about the engagement, Grandpa sprang it on everyone. I should’ve stepped in sooner. No hard feelings?

you or Ronan sighed, his voice calm, no trace of bitterness. Elias, relax. I don’t hold Lucy accountable, hell, not even your grandpa, much as his oldschool ways grate. It’s justyou should’ve asked her first. Arranged or not, a shewolf deserves a say in her mate. I would’ve backed off if she’d said no from the start.

I nodded to myself, the wind rustling the trees below. He was right; Lucy’s tears last night had hit harder than expected. Agreed. I let tradition blind me. To make it up, how about lunch at the company? Bring Jessy too. Neutral ground, no pack politics, just to talk.

Jessy’d love that; she’s been curious about your setup. We’re in. See you around noon?

Sounds good. Thanks, Ronan.” We hung up, and I pocketed the phone, a weight lifting.

Alliances intact with no blood spilled.

The living room was alive with laughter as I approached, Lucy’s bright giggles mingling with Naomi’s softer chuckles, a sound that warmed something in my chest. They sat on the couch, Lucy animatedly gesturing about some pack gossip, Naomi’s eyes sparkling, her hair catching the light.

She looked beautiful, still flushed from our night, her blouse hiding the marks I’d left on her breasts, the bites I’d sucked into blooming bruises. The bond flared as our eyes met, her shyness flickering through it like a shy flame.

Lucy spotted me first, her laughter fading to curiosity. Back already? Who was that on the phone?

I leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, keeping my expression casual. Ronan. I Invited him and Jessy for lunch at the company. Figured we owe him a proper talk after the engagement fiasco.

Lucy’s face paled, her omega scent spiking with nerves, lavender turning sharp and anxious. She fidgeted with her sleeve, eyes wide.

Today? She glanced at Naomi, then back at me, vulnerability cracking her usual bubbliness. Elias, II’m not sure. What if it’s awkward? I mean, after I basically rejected the whole thing

I softened my tone, stepping closer. It’s neutral, Luce. Clear the air to keep the alliance strong. You don’t have to decide anything today.”

She bit her lip, nodding slowly, but her hands twisted in her lap. Okaybut can Naomi come? Please? I need backup.” Her eyes pleaded, turning to Naomi with that puppylike hope.
