57 Chapter 57 She’s all I craved now
Elias’s pov:
The reminder from Carla popped up on my phone screen as I wrapped up the last strategy session in my office at Kingsley Enterprises, the holographic map of pack borders flickering out with a swipe of my hand.
“Dinner with Jessy Silverfang, 7 PM, Luna’s Edge Restaurant.”
I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose. Courtesy had gotten me into this; I’d agreed to the invite yesterday as an apology gesture, keeping alliances smooth after rejecting the marriage proposal.
But now, all I could think about was getting home to Naomi. When did this happen? This pull, this addiction to her presence that made every hour away feel like a drag. I didn’t know exactly when I’d gotten so attached, maybe it was the first time the bond flared in hatred and twisted into something deeper, or the nights she’d given in under me despite the fire in her eyes.
Now, I looked forward to being near her constantly, inhaling her sweet omega scent that drove my alpha instincts wild. Fuck the dinner; I’d much rather be home, pinning her to the bed, burying myself in her until she moaned my name.
I pocketed the phone and headed out, the drive to the restaurant a blur of city lights and pack woods edging the roads. Luna’s Edge was neutral territory, an upscale spot perched on a cliff overlooking the river ford, its glass walls offering views of the moonlit water.
Perfect for discreet meetings, away from prying pack eyes. I valet–parked the SUV and stepped inside, the ambient jazz and clink of silverware greeting me alongside the mingled scents of gourmet herbs and shifter auras.
Jessy was already there, waiting at a corner table by the window, her blonde waves cascading over a fitted black dress that hugged her curves elegantly, She rose as I approached, her blue eyes lighting up with a smile that seemed genuine, floral scent wafting toward me, pleasant, but nothing like Naomi’s intoxicating nectar that made. my blood heat.
“Elias, right on time,” she said warmly, extending a hand that I shook firmly, her touch lingering a fraction too long. I returned the smile politely.

“Good to see you. Thanks for the invite.”
We settled in, the waiter pouring wine, a rich red from neutral vineyards as we perused the menus. Everything started normal, surface–level chatter to fill the space.
“How’s Silverfang holding up with the recent rogue sightings?” I asked, sipping the wine, my mind already wandering.
“Steady,” Jessy replied, her voice smooth, leaning forward slightly to engage. “Ronan’s reinforced the borders, but we’re eyeing some of your Kingsley tech for better
surveillance. Synergies, like we discussed.”
She smiled, subtly highlighting the business angle, but I nodded absently, my thoughts drifting to Naomi again. I missed her scent, the way it wrapped around me like a claim, making me hard just thinking about it.
Last night, after the marks on her neck had sparked that teasing in the office, we’d barely made it to the bedroom before I had her against the wall, her legs wrapped around me as I fucked her senseless. When had she become this obsession? It started with vengeance, claiming the daughter of my parents‘ killer, but now? I craved her constantly, looked forward to her sharp wit.
Dinner dragged for a long time but I’d much rather be home, stripping her bare, tasting every inch until she begged.
We ordered steak for me, rare, salmon for her, and the conversation meandered to pack politics, recent alliances, even light banter about Ronan’s budding interest in Lucy.
“They seem to click,” Jessy said, her eyes twinkling. “What about you, Elias? Anyone special catching your eye these days?” Her tone was casual, but there was a probing edge, her alpha instincts perhaps sensing my distraction.
I set down my fork, not wanting to lead her on. Jessy was attractive, intelligent, a solid match on paper, but the bond with Naomi burned like fire in my veins, making anyone else pale.
“Yes, actually,” I admitted, keeping it polite but firm. “I’m seeing someone.”
Through the bond, I felt a faint warmth from Naomi, as if she sensed my thoughts straying to her. Fuck, I needed to wrap this up; the thought of her waiting at home, perhaps in that thin nightgown, made my cock twitch.

Attachment like this snuck up on me, hate turning to possession, then to this aching need to be near her always.
Jessy nodded, her smile faltering just a touch before recovering, disappointment hidden behind grace. “That’s wonderful. She must be lucky.”
If she harbored hopes, she masked it well. We continued eating, the conversation polite but lacking spark for me. I answered questions about Kingsley’s expansions, shared a laugh over Grandpa’s archaic ways.
As the meal wound down, the waiter cleared plates, and we stood to leave. Jessy gathered her purse, stepping around the table toward the exit.
Suddenly, an “accidental” trip that sent her stumbling forward with a soft gasp. Instinct kicked in; my alpha reflexes propelled me to catch her, arms wrapping around her waist steadily, pulling her upright against my chest.
Her body pressed close, her floral scent intensifying as she clung a moment too long, hands on my shoulders, blush creeping up her cheeks.
“Oh, sorry. Clumsy me,” she murmured, her voice breathy, eyes meeting mine with a subtle flirtation. “Thank you for catching me.”
I held her for the briefest second needed, polite but detached, setting her back on her feet with a nod. “No problem. You okay?”
Jessy’s blush deepened, her hand trailing down my bicep lightly. “All good now. Strong arms like yours? A girl could get used to that.”
