"I haven't developed that much of the drug. I can only give you 1mg today. Let me think about it."
As the medication slowly entered Lilith's body, her trembling finally began to subside.
She was sure she could get Hazel to agree.

Aria pushed open the door, and her expression instantly turned cold.
The house had been almost completely emptied, leaving it with practically four bare walls.
It was completely different from the last time she was here.
Aria took out her phone and started to dial 911, but Gideon grabbed her hand first.
"What are you doing?"
"Calling the police. Isn't this clearly a burglary?"
Aria kicked at a piece of broken glass on the floor.
The Rowans really couldn't stand to lose anything. They gave up the house but had to snatch everything inside.
"You wanted the house, and Lilith gave it to you. The rest were sentimental items for Lilith and Ms. Sterling. Can't you just let them have that?"
"Sentimental items?" Aria scoffed, looking around the room. "If she was really that sentimental, would this place be such a filthy mess?"
"The Rowan family isn't some minor household. They could have hired a cleaner to come by each month. Then there wouldn't be cobwebs in the corners, would there?"
"They don't bother to clean or move things when I don't want the house, but as soon as I do, they start talking about sentimentality?"
Gideon was rendered speechless by her words.
She did have a point.
"Maybe Lilith didn't do it…"
"Then that's all the more reason to call the police. If she didn't do it, then it really was a burglary."
As they were talking, Aria's phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from Nathan.
"Don't always get so worked up," Roxanne sighed, handing Nathan a glass of water. "The doctor said you need to manage your anger."
"But we can't just let Aria turn our family upside down!" Nathan disagreed with his wife. "You should have told me about this, to prevent Aria from pulling any more stunts!"
Roxanne looked at Nathan, conflicted.
Nathan's heart skipped a beat. "What else are you hiding from me?"
"Well, it's nothing… It's just that Lilith called earlier and said Gideon really plans to be with Aria and doesn't want to take responsibility for her…"
"What?!" Nathan slammed his hand on the table and shot up. "He made all those promises, and now he doesn't want her? What does Gideon take the Rowan family for?!"
"So what do we do now?" Roxanne sat on the sofa, dabbing her eyes. "Two perfectly good children, breaking up just like that… and with Lilith in her condition, what am I supposed to do?"
"Don't you cry. I will make the Evernight family give us an explanation for this!" Nathan's tone paused, then he suddenly added, "Do you know how far things went between Gideon and Lilith?"
"You mean…"
Nathan said, "If the Evernight family could be pressured by public opinion to marry Aria once, they can be pressured a second time."
