Gideon's allergy to fresh-squeezed orange juice was no secret in the Evernight family.
But apparently, Lilith didn’t know.
Eveline's gaze shifted to the orange juice and then scanned the rest of the table.
There was nothing else to drink.
Suddenly, the atmosphere grew a little tense.
Lilith looked embarrassed. “I forgot Gideon was allergic to orange juice… I’ll be more careful next time.”
Gideon came out of his room, heard Lilith’s words, and looked at Aria.
She still remembered his allergy…
“Are you heading to the lab after eating?” Gideon pursed his lips. “Just ask the staff to make you whatever you want.”
Lilith’s face paled slightly at his words.
Perhaps Gideon hadn’t realized that Lilith had personally cooked this breakfast.
“Gideon, I…”
“Lilith made this for you by hand,” Aria interjected with a raised eyebrow. “I can just grab something at the institute.”
The closer those two got, the more evidence she could collect.
Aria, worried she didn't have enough, had used this opportunity to pull some strings and hire a private investigator.
All this talk of being like siblings… the truth would come out when it was time to file for divorce.
Aria adjusted the canvas bag on her shoulder, which contained the divorce papers Gideon had already signed. She planned to file them today.
She had already torn up the part of the agreement where she would leave with nothing, but that didn’t affect the overall divorce proceedings.
Gideon tried to say something else, but Aria had already turned and left.
Clean and decisive.
Everything went smoothly. After submitting the documents, all she had to do was wait for the official notice.
[Raphael: They approved your application. The higher-ups are also interested in your research. After they heard you developed the antidote, they want to buy the patent. What do you think?]
As soon as she left the courthouse, Aria received a message from Raphael.
That was perfect.
