Lilith originally had an early-stage osteosarcoma, but she was misdiagnosed as terminal, causing her to miss the optimal window for treatment.
Then, her body was weakened by incorrect medication.
And now, the car accident.
Right now, Lilith’s priority should be keeping herself alive, not trying to cure every complication. She needed a miracle, not Flora making a scene here.
Flora saw that Aria wasn't taking the bait and gritted her teeth. “Aria, I heard Hazel was arrested. Was it because you didn't want to save Lilith and intended to keep all the credit for this new drug for yourself!?”
Aria’s lips curved into a faint smile. This was the question she had been waiting for Flora to ask.
She exchanged a look with Mira, who was sitting in the audience. Mira immediately nodded, hurried backstage, and changed the content on the main screen.
Flora’s accusation caused a stir in the crowd.
“So, she’s saying Aria took Lilith’s place in the family, and now that Lilith is sick, Aria refuses to help her?”
“That’s what it sounds like.”
“But why wouldn't Aria help her? Wouldn't saving her be a way of repaying the Rowan family?”
“The Rowan family paid her thirty million dollars to cut all ties. Why would she repay them for anything?”
“Then what was the Rowan family thinking? Aria is Lilith’s last hope, and they dared to sever their relationship with her?”
Aria listened to the murmurs, her fingers tapping idly against her wheelchair.
Flora spoke again. “Aria, I just don’t understand why you have to target Lilith again and again!”
Aria looked up. “Are you prepared to take responsibility for that statement?”
Flora froze. The thought of the blockchain records Aria had been creating over the past few days made her inexplicably nervous.
