“I didn’t find anything suspicious.”
Raphael met up with Aria.
Aria adjusted the corsage on her chest, her gaze drifting toward Roxanne.
“I have a feeling she’s about to start something again.”
Perhaps from being manipulated by Roxanne so many times, Aria felt like she was developing a spider-sense for trouble.
“...During this time, I would like to announce something. It’s that…”
Roxanne bit her lip, hesitating for a moment before speaking.
“The truth is, Lilith was not my biological daughter.”
The statement sent shockwaves through the crowd.
Nathan was the first to react, immediately snapping, “Do you have any idea what you’re saying?! When Lilith came back, didn’t we do a DNA test?!”
Roxanne took a deep breath and produced the old test results, handing them to a guest nearby.
“When Lilith was brought back into the Rowan family, her biological mother… met with an accident. I’ve always felt guilty, believing that I was responsible for the tragedy of a family.
So, when the DNA results came back, I knew Lilith wasn’t my daughter, but she was already homeless. I decided to hide the truth from everyone, including my husband.”
“Because of my guilt towards Lilith, I couldn't help but favor her, to the point that my own biological daughter and I… we grew to be like strangers.”
Everyone’s gaze instantly shifted to Aria. At the same time, the DNA results were handed to her.
There were two reports.
One for Lilith and Nathan, and one for Lilith and Roxanne.
The results showed no biological relationship in either case.
