Chapter 162
Chapter 162
Even if they had to, it’d definitely be a thorn in their side.
Leo wanted a happy family, but Alicia had zero intention of letting that happen.

Back in her last life, Alicia had sold her shares to that same major shareholder, but she checked out before she could watch the Hammond Group turn into a total mess.
This time, Alicia wasn’t going to miss a second-she was ready to sit back and enjoy the chaos firsthand.
So it wasn’t long before Jason called Kevin back.
Kevin picked up and asked, “Mr. Farrell, what did Alicia say?”
Jason replied, “Alicia said she’d rather let those shares go to waste than ever sell them to you guys.”
That completely crushed whatever hope Kevin had left. “We can offer a higher price,” he said, still trying to turn things around.
Jason replied, “Alicia said if it’s you guys buying, forget it.
“I’ve passed on the message. That’s it,” Jason said, ending the call.
Kevin hung up and told his dad exactly what Jason had said.
Leo’s face turned even gloomier. “Is she really just trying to piss me off on purpose?”
Hearing that, Leo couldn’t help but think back to what Alicia said about Nicole putting on that funeral face.
He turned to Kevin and the others. “Don’t tell Nicole and her mom I’m in the hospital.”
Otherwise, those two would just show up and start bawling in front of him.
Yeah, they’d be crying because they care, and he never minded before, but now it just feels like a bad omen.
Kevin and the others nodded. “Got it.”
Leo turned to Collin. “Collin, why don’t you go talk to Ally and see if you can buy her shares?”
Collin nodded. “Alright, I’ll give it a shot.”
He added, sounding worried, “And besides that, if Ally and Mr. Yates end up joining Lucent Media’s eco-project, it could really mess things up for us.”

All the families had already sunk a fortune into that project, and the thing was, it was already underway.
If it crashed and burned, the losses would be massive.
Leo rubbed his temples. ‘Yeah, that’s got me worried too.”
They honestly never expected Alicia to pull something like this.
They just took it for granted that if they brought it up, she’d agree to join the project without a second thought.
That’s why they didn’t even think to discuss it with her beforehand.
Leo looked at Collin and said, “Find a chance to talk to Ally and try to calm her down. See if you can convince her not to do anything impulsive.”
He added, “Whatever Jason’s offering her, we can match it-or even beat it.”
“Alicia’s always been tight with her mom, and she’s got a ton of issues with us. Maybe she’ll actually listen to someone from Collin’s side, Leo thought.
Collin agreed. “Alright, I’ll see what I can do to talk to her.”
On top of that, one of the big clients Delaney Group was trying to land had gotten sick.
They wanted to bring in a top traditional medicine doctor to treat them, but the guy was almost impossible to reach.
Right now, they were working every connection they had, trying to find someone who could hook them up with that doctor.
If Delaney Group could make that connection and actually get the client cured, they’d have that big client in the bag.
If they could land this deal, not only would the profits be massive, but it could really shape Delaney Group’s future in medical tech.
They had to do whatever it took to make it happen.
And it wasn’t just Delaney Group-all the other big players in the game were scrambling for
it too.
Turns out, that top traditional medicine doctor was actually Alicia’s professor’s mentor at Solmare Medical College, so Collin thought, why not ask Alicia to help connect them?
Collin called Kevin into his office for a chat, mainly to get the scoop on how Alicia had been acting lately and what her attitude was like.
