Alicia said, “Your cough is actually caused by an allergy. Mind if I check out your room?”

The old woman stared at her, surprised. “An allergy? Really?”

That answer surprised everyone-not just her, but the others as well.

She nodded again. “Of course, let’s go.”

She stood up and led Alicia to her bedroom.

With her permission, the camera crew followed them into her bedroom.

The bedroom was pretty big and neat.

Alicia walked over and glanced around.

She pointed at the potted plant sitting on the table right next to the bed. “This is the reason you’ve been coughing all this time.

“From your pulse, I can tell your cough has lasted for more than a month.

“Think about it-did your cough start soon after you brought this plant home?

“And when you leave your bedroom or the house, your cough eases up, right?”

The old woman thought for a moment. “Now that you mention it, that’s true.

“My husband dug it up from the mountains a little over a month ago.

“And honestly, after we put it in the bedroom for a few days, I started coughing a little, and it just kept getting worse.”

‘No wonder I didn’t cough as much when I was at the hospital, the old woman thought.
