Chapter 215
Chapter 215
Jason and Alicia had agreed to meet up.
He stepped out first and waited beneath a large tree near the entrance.
Thanks to the production crew’s setup, there were strings of lights hung outside the villa.
On top of that, a row of lights was draped across the big tree.
So even after dark, you could still see clearly.
Just as he finished his call with his secretary, he saw Nicole come running out.
A hint of amusement flickered in his eyes as he watched her, interested to see what kind of act she was about to put on.
Nicole came running straight at him, wiping away tears, her face buried in her hands, not watching where she was going.
She didn’t seem to notice him until she was right in front of him, then suddenly slammed on
the brakes.
But it was too late-she crashed right into him.
Jason could pretty much guess what Nicole was up to the moment she came running at him, crying her eyes out.
So when she lunged at him, he backed his wheelchair up just in time, staying out of her reach.
Nicole couldn’t stop herself, and since she failed to throw herself into Jason’s arms like she’d planned, she went down hard, face-first on the ground, looking absolutely pathetic.
Just then, Nicolas and Caleb came back after their walk and chat.
On a nearby path, they just happened to witness the whole thing.
Both of them stopped in their tracks and hid themselves behind some bushes.
They obviously wanted to see what Nicole was trying to pull.
Or maybe they were trying to figure out if there was something between Nicole and Jason.
The path wasn’t far from the big tree, but there weren’t any lights over here, plus there were bushes off to the side.
With the two of them hiding and Nicole so caught up in her own epic wipeout, she didn’t

notice them at all.
But Jason, ever the sharp one, picked up on it right away.
Jason looked down at Nicole with icy indifference as she lay sprawled on the ground, not bothering to say a word.
Nicole never thought Jason would actually move out of the way.
She’d faked tears and acted like she wasn’t watching where she was going, all just to run straight at him.
When she was coming downstairs, she heard Alicia’s door open and guessed Jason and Alicia had set up a meeting.
Her whole scheme was to crash right into Jason’s arms, hoping Alicia would walk out and see them together.
Alicia was super sensitive about stuff like this, and Nicole was banking on her getting ticked off at Jason because of it.
Plus, she figured this was the perfect chance to cozy up to Jason and act all pitiful.
She thought she had it all worked out, but she never expected Jason to be so unsporting-and so quick to dodge her.
Instead, she wiped out hard and ended up flat on the ground, totally embarrassed.
But since things had already gone south, all she could do was try to play it off.
She winced and rubbed her foot, pretending it hurt, then sat herself down on the ground.
Then she looked up at Jason, eyes full of tears and embarrassment. “M-Mr. Farrell.”
She stammered, totally flustered. “W-What are you doing here?”
She acted all surprised, like she had no clue he’d be there.
Jason’s eyes were cold as he sneered, “You ran straight at me, trying to throw yourself into my arms. And you want me to believe you didn’t know I was here?”
Nicole hadn’t expected Jason to be so direct about it-and to see right through her little act.
She put on a look of disbelief. “Seriously, how could you think that of me?
“I was just so heartbroken, crying, and I ran out into the dark without even looking where I was going. I really didn’t expect to almost bump into you.”
Jason raised an eyebrow. “Are you blind or what? I’m sitting right under the lights. Even if it’s

dark, you should’ve been able to see a living, breathing person like me here.”
