Nicole wasn’t about to tell him that with Alicia and Jason both gone today, it was the perfect chance to pull this off.

Jett pulled a keychain out of his pocket. “Is this yours? I found it in the yard earlier.”

He snatched it up and held it tightly in his fist.

This was the keychain Alicia had given him ages ago, and he’d never gone anywhere without

But Jett stopped him. “Did you guys pick up some water at the store earlier, besides the booze?
