After I Fully Prepared for the Apocalypse, the Ungrateful Cried with Regret novel Chapter 348

Chapter 348: Chapter 348: Ziegler Clan

As it turned out, Orson Quinn had begun investigating the Ziegler Family over two months ago after receiving an inside tip.

These people traveled between several different small, surrounding bases and eventually gathered some intelligence.

However, by the time this intelligence was gathered, Orson Quinn’s health was failing.

At that time, Caspian Ziegler had already tricked a significant number of people into becoming his followers, which was why Orson Quinn had repeatedly implored Mordecai Quinn to never let the base fall into their hands.

Nina Jacobs flipped through the investigation report as she listened.

"This world is truly full of surprises,"

Nina Jacobs remarked after reading through it.

A Divination Secret Technique, passed down for a thousand years within the Silthos Ziegler Family. Rumor has it that the family possesses a "Ziegler Family Inference Map."

For centuries, with the birth of each direct bloodline descendant, the Inference Map’s predictive power would increase.

This was why the Ziegler family always had numerous children. One of their aims was to better predict the world’s future, including the Ziegler Group’s fortunes.

"I found it a bit unbelievable at first, too. But an old gentleman visited the base some time ago, and after hearing his explanation, I started to understand it a little,"

Mordecai Quinn said.

The old gentleman was an old friend of Mr. Quinn. Orson Quinn had asked him about this very matter, and while his explanation was a bit esoteric, Mordecai Quinn still managed to grasp the gist of it.

"Drakonia has ancient traditions of Astrology Skills like Life Plate Inference. Using a person’s birth date and time, as well as opportune timing and location as guides, it can deduce the future path of an individual or even the entire world."

Mordecai Quinn noticed Nina Jacobs frowning and continued to explain:

"For instance, they can use the Ziegler Family’s secret technique to run an inference on the ’Ziegler Family Inference Map’ for anyone connected to Zachary Ziegler’s life, as long as they have the person’s birth details and current information."

’Anyone connected to Zachary Ziegler can have their future inferred?’

Nina Jacobs understood at once. ’Does this mean it’s highly likely the Ziegler Family figured something out about Liam Grant in her past life?’

"Exactly. I’m telling you to be careful because I don’t want you to attract the Ziegler Family’s attention. Even if you do, you must not, under any circumstances, let them learn your birth details or your recent movements.

After all... people who sneak around like that are disgusting."

Mordecai Quinn said, a look of disgust on his face.

Of course, he didn’t truly believe they had the ability to calculate a person’s entire future.

"I understand. Thank you for telling me all this."

Nina Jacobs felt as if a puzzle from her past life had just been solved.

Now, there was just one more thing she needed to figure out.

She wanted to know what the "legacy item" the Mystic Sect was constantly searching for actually was.

"There’s one more thing. You injured Eleanor Ziegler today. She’s Zachary Ziegler’s sister, and he’s not one to let things slide."

Mordecai Quinn blushed a little after being thanked, but fortunately, Nina Jacobs was too deep in thought to notice.

"But don’t worry. Zachary Ziegler has been arrested over that incident with Miss Sutton and Rosalind Keane."

’Zachary Ziegler was arrested?’

"In that case, I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to release him,"

Nina Jacobs said.

"Release him? You can go interrogate him whenever you want."

Mordecai Quinn didn’t understand her intentions. ’Doesn’t she want to ask him some questions?’

Nina Jacobs smiled. "Didn’t you say it was best not to attract the attention of The Zieglers?

If you don’t release him, how is he going to come looking for me?"

"So that’s it. But even if he’s released..."

"Tomorrow, I’ll accompany The Garrison to take down those two Intermediate Mutant Zombies.

Leak this information to him at the same time. He’ll definitely come for me,"

Nina Jacobs said.

"You know about our plan for tomorrow?"

Mordecai Quinn asked, surprised.

They did indeed plan to muster all their forces the next day, hoping to kill at least one of the Intermediate Zombies.

"A lucky guess. The base is at its most unified right now, isn’t it?"

Nina Jacobs replied.

Mordecai Quinn nodded. "That’s true, but it’s too dangerous..."

"It doesn’t matter. I have to take that road anyway,"

Nina Jacobs said.

"You’re leaving?" Mordecai Quinn still hadn’t processed her words.
