After I left, the twin Alphas went crazy novel Chapter 54

I glanced at the clock on the wall, feeling a surge of irritation.

I didn’t have time for this. School was starting soon, and I didn’t want to waste my morning dealing with Ryan’s ego. I sighed, signaling to Ethan, who was standing nearby.

"I need to eat something before I go to school," I said, barely looking at Ryan. "Show them out, please."

Ethan, ever the diplomat, nodded and ushered them toward the door. As they were leaving, Ryan’s eyes locked onto mine, filled with a mixture of anger and desperation.

He leaned in close as he passed, his voice low and threatening.

"Sophia, if you keep playing this game, I won’t forgive you. Don’t push me."

I couldn’t help but laugh. "Forgiveness? Who said I wanted it?" I shot back coldly. "Now, get out."

With that, Ryan stormed out, his mother close behind, still berating him for his incompetence.

I felt a strange sense of relief wash over me. This chapter with Ryan was closing, and I was more than ready to move on.

At school, the atmosphere was different.

Whispers followed me as I walked down the hallway, a mix of curiosity and admiration in the air. Word had spread fast after the events of yesterday.

A group of classmates approached, their eyes wide with interest.

"Sophia, is your family really that rich?" one of them asked, voice tinged with awe.

"So all of Ryan’s money was coming from you?" another chimed in. "We always thought he was the one with the connections!"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Yeah, well, people can be good at hiding things."

One of the boys grinned, nudging me playfully.

"You’re way too nice to Ryan. If I were you, I’d have dumped him ages ago."

As we all laughed, I spotted Ryan standing at the edge of the courtyard, his face dark with anger. He must have overheard the conversation, and from the look on his face, he wasn’t happy about it.

His sneer was evident as he shouted across the crowd, "You guys think she’s some saint? She’s already got a new target! You’d better get in line if you want her attention."

"Who is it?" His voice was low and deadly as he towered over me, his face twisted with anger. "Who’s the guy?"

I tilted my head, meeting his glare head-on.

"What’s it to you?" I replied slowly, my voice steady as I held his gaze. "After all, we were never really dating, were we?"

The crowd of students around us exchanged confused glances.

Ryan had always kept our relationship under wraps. To everyone else, we were just classmates — acquaintances at best. He’d never acknowledged me as his girlfriend in public, and now, with that reminder, I could see the flicker of realization in his eyes. He had no power over me here. The shame of exposing our secret had him biting his tongue.

But even now, his need for control showed its ugly face. He leaned in, his breath hot against my ear as he muttered, "You’re mine. I won’t let anyone else have you."

I felt a chill run down my spine, but I didn’t flinch. I wasn’t the same naive girl I had been months ago.

"We’ll see about that," I whispered back, my voice laced with defiance.

Before Ryan could respond, the door to the classroom swung open, and our teacher walked in, breaking the tension like a burst of fresh air.

"Ryan," she said sharply, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the room, "get back to your seat. I have an announcement to make."
