After I left, the twin Alphas went crazy novel Chapter 92

I forced a grim smile, one that didn’t quite reach my eyes. “The person I trusted the most.”

He frowned but didn’t press for more details. It was a painful truth I wasn’t ready to explore further, and he must have sensed that. Instead, he changed the subject.

“I think I have a way to reverse the effects. There’s a new antidote I’ve been working on, and if you trust me, I can give it to you. No charge.”

There was an honesty in his offer, a genuine desire to help. I didn’t hesitate. “I trust you, Zane.”

He looked taken aback for a second, as if he didn’t expect such an immediate response. “You… you do?” he asked, a little uncertain. His voice softened, guilt flickering across his face. “I’m sorry for everything, for what this has done to you.”

I shook my head and offered him a small smile. “You don’t need to apologize. None of this is your fault.”

Zane’s face brightened slightly, though the burden of his guilt still hung in the air like a heavy fog. This man had once been destined for greatness, I thought. In a previous life, Zane had been one of the most brilliant scientists of our time, someone whose work could have changed the world for werewolves.

But that life had been stolen from him—his research taken, his name erased from history by two men consumed by selfish desires. In this life, we would change that together.

As I turned to leave the lab, Zane’s voice stopped me. “Wait… have you been thinking about promotion recently?”

I blinked, caught off guard by the sudden shift. “Yes, I have,” I admitted. “With my current grades, I don’t stand much chance of getting into a top school.”

He hesitated for a moment, glancing away before speaking again. “I’ve got a few spots open in my department this year. If you’re willing, I can help you get in.”

I froze. Was he serious? The University of British Columbia? It was one of the top institutions in the world, a place I had only dreamed of attending. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but before I could respond, my phone buzzed.

“Hold on a second,” I said, answering the call. “Hello?”

“Sophia?” Linda’s voice came through, sounding unusually timid. “Can we meet? There’s something I need to talk to you about.”

“I’m not really available,” I replied. “I’m in Vancouver right now.”

Sitting on the plane, I looked out the window at the tiny lights on the ground and suddenly felt a trance, like a lifetime ago.

This kind of scenery was a luxury I couldn’t even think of in my previous life.

I was able to travel back and forth between two places by plane, free to do what I wanted, and even had the opportunity to enroll in the University of British Columbia. Life had turned tables for me now.. And

I had to take advantage of it.

The next day, I arrived at the café on time. Linda was already there, sitting nervously by the window, her hands gripping a steaming cup of coffee. I could tell she was on edge, her eyes darting around the room as if she were afraid of being overheard.

I slid into the seat across from her. “So, what’s this all about?”

Linda looked at me, trying to appear confident, but her voice betrayed her. “I can convince Ryan to come back and continue as your tutor. How’s that for interesting?”
