Ethan replied smoothly, "If it's not a steep hike, I'll just take it slow. I should be fine. Is there any way the mystic could come down from the mountain?"
He had been cleared to leave the hospital, but his doctors had strictly ordered six months of recovery before he could be considered fully healed.
During that time, intense physical activity was completely off the table. Even his daily exercise was restricted to light walks—no martial arts training, no running.
He wouldn't be cleared for his normal routine for at least another two to three months.
Hiking, given his current condition, was definitely pushing it. He honestly wasn't sure if his body could handle the strain.
In the past, he and Jordan would scale massive, rugged mountains on their days off without breaking a sweat. Now, a nameless little hill might actually defeat him.
"I have no idea," Stephanie admitted. "Winifred said she has to contact one of his apprentices first to pass the message along. We can't even go unless Master Julian explicitly agrees. Otherwise, we'll just hike all the way up there only to be greeted by his students."
"From what Winifred says, his apprentices are quite skilled in their own right. If a regular person needs a problem solved, the students can usually handle it."
Master Julian only met with those he deemed destined. For an ordinary person, getting an audience was nearly impossible, and even if they managed it, he wasn't guaranteed to intervene.
Just as the two finished speaking, Stephanie's phone buzzed. It was Winifred again. Stephanie quickly answered.
"Winifred, what did he say? Is he willing to see us?"
Winifred's voice crackled with awe. "The man is unbelievable. He told me he already knows Ethan is in no condition to travel. He's coming down the mountain tomorrow to visit your estate directly. He said he's been waiting for Ethan and his wife for half a year, but neither of them ever thought to seek him out."
"A while back, we tried to pay him an obscene amount of money just to check the Feng Shui on a new property. He wouldn't even step out his front door. He just sent his senior apprentice."
"But with Ethan's situation, the apprentice barely walked into the room before Master Julian stopped him. He already knew exactly what it was about and announced he was coming down tomorrow."
"Talk about fate," Winifred murmured, genuinely staggered.
Stephanie mentally took notes.
After hanging up, Stephanie stared at her grandson for a long time before sighing. "I don't know if this is a blessing or a curse."
"Whatever it is, we have to face it. I've survived the worst of it already. Things can only go up from here. Don't worry, Grandma. I fully plan on living to be a hundred."
Stephanie rolled her eyes. "Without a wife or kids, living to a hundred just means you'll be a lonely old bachelor. What's so great about that?"
Ethan was speechless.
Was his grandmother suggesting he'd be better off dead?
Whatever conversation unfolded between Ethan and Stephanie, Isabella was completely unaware. After arriving home, she barely spoke to her mother and headed straight to her bedroom.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
I will be devastated if Isabella and Ethan will get back together. Please, writer, Isabella deserves Harold....
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
